Best Half Back line in Hurling 2000-2010

A serious number of fantastic half backs! We are privileged to have seen so many true greats. For me I have seen that superb Galway line of Finnerty, Keady and McInerney but for me I would place Tommy Walsh, Ken McGrath and JJ Delaney as my number 1 choice. Tommy - has gotten a lot of bad press - is it justified/ Ken - a brilliant stylist. JJ the bigger the man the better he is.

As for the full back - I think Brian Lohan epitimised what a true full back should be - tenacious, brave and above all spectacular in his trade mark clearances. A pure joy to behold! One of the true greats - very few players energised and got a crowd roaring as well as Brian did. Worth travelling to watch his every move!

Best Half back line of from 2000 to 2010 to play together has to be the KK half back line of T.Walsh, B.Hogan & JJ.Delaney. Saying that over the decade Ken McGrath was probably the best centre back in the game with Tommy & JJ the best half backs without question. Some great players hurled in those positions in those 10 years like the 3 Cork lads Gardiner, Curran & O hAilpin, Tony Browne, Eamon Corcoran, Declan Ruth, Mark Foley, Paul Kelly -for a few years was outstanding for Tipp at No. 7. Brian Whelehan was probably one of the greatest half backs of all time but did his best hurling in the 90's, same goes for Seanie McMahon.
