Great players never to win an All Ireland

Mick Carley from Westmeath. Was probably our greatest ever player. Won at least one railway cup with Leinster at midfield.

.....well done to moomoo for asking the same question in a different way to begin a boring thread on a topic which he has acknowledged has 'been done before'!!

It has indeed been done before.....'many times'!!!!

Just how boring can this lad get?!

I though Ciaran Whelan was on the panel in 1995 when Dublin won the All-Ireland? I know he played no part in the championship but I thought he was on the panel...maybe I am wrong..

You're the king of doing things ''many times'' Snuf. Remember ''we're going to win 100% of all national titles''? Funny nothing like that by you this year and only last year you were saying it everyday. Also once again ill ask have you got anything to back up the Dara O Cinnéide is from Dublin claim yet?

Thanks for the clarification. Certainly was unlucky. One year earlier and two later and he would have had two. Tough break. Certainly deserved one but obviously didn't get it.

I don't have a great knowledge of any players who hurled over 20 years ago, so here's some of the more modern players that i would pick in Hurling:

Galway: Ollie and Joe Canning, Kevin Broderick, Eugene Cloonan, Joe Rabbitte.

Limerick: Ciaran Carey, Gary Kirby.

Waterford: Tony Browne, John Mullane, Ken McGrath, Dan Shanahan, Paul Flynn, Eoin Kelly, Brick Walsh, Fergal Hartley.
