What about Aidan Walsh not being let play with DCU??? I'd say they are fuming, an all star midfielder who they brought to college to play football for them and he pulled from them. Tis harsh on the fella but laughable too

Don't think DCU will have the services of the Ballymun Kickhams contingent either.

UL allowed stay up as HEC granted them the option of playing Sigerson despite relegation last year, it was their own call basically i believe. Nasty draw for them. What are the ties of the round? UCC Vs Jordanstown look good, J-town actually on a training camp at the min in Portugal...yes i said Portugal

Very open this year, DCU, UUJ, UCD, UCC, DIT and St Mary's all in with a shout.

So the usual suspects then? Can any team outside the top 5/6 make a break thru, surely there will be one surprise in the first round. What are Trinity College doing there?

CIT might be able to surprise a few people. Gave DCU their closest game last year and they were missing Ciaran Sheehan and Aidan Walsh for that game. They wil have Ciaran this year but Aidan is gone. They have some very good Kerry prospects so in my view they could be the darkhorses

So big wins today for Athlone It over Carlow IT, St. Mary's had a double score win over Tralee IT, UCC bet UUJ well too, think they won by seven in the end and DCU bet UL by eight or nine.

The only close game was NUI Maynooth beating Sligo IT by a point.

Good start to the campaign for last years winners and beaten finalists, as well as league runners up St. Mary's.

Anybody at any of the matches or have details of the panels / county players competing for the colleges this year? Be interesting to see how DCU fair against tougher opposition and if they'll suffer at all from the Ballymun lads still being involved with the club.

Was anyone at the UCD game today, or the NUIM DIT game yesterday, just wondering how the Meath lads played.

Good to hear he's also our top scorer in the league still only 19. DCU didn't have the Ballymun players today and still won pulling put it's hard to see any side stopping them.

That's against Dublin's best defender Rory O'Carroll as well.

Surely not the legendary ROC about whom we have heard so much. That clip goes a long way towards explaining why All Stars have not come flowing to his door,

Pity he couldn't do it against The Roc when it really mattered, All Ireland U 21 final 2010 The Roc was MOTM after not giving him a sniff.

So he had one good game against him underage in a game in which Murphy was in his sickbed the week before the game.
I remember I kept an all star forward scoreless in an U-12 game once.

Even the UCD boys were laughing at this.
