Fantastic win for K/K today! Coolderry last year and K/K today. A great boost for Offaly hurling. I feel for Oulart today, but it is sign that Wexford hurling is on the up also.
A certain thurlesblues was looking forward to the Thurles v Oulart all ireland semi earlier in the forum.

Congrats to KK, deserved winners on the day. Its a disaster for Oulart though. Standard was poor it has to be said. KKs gamplan worked, a lot of bunching and just didnt let Oulart hurl. As the game wore on you could see Oulart getting more and more frustrated and eventually the old seeds of doubt set in. It was difficult viewing from their point of view. KK now face Thurles in the semi as underdogs again and that will suit them.

I agree. Well done, they deserved it on the day. Some great young hurlers on show. 2 Leinster club titles in-a-row for Offaly & 2 different clubs! Oulart did the hard work beating Kilkenny opposition both years but they once again failed to deliver as favourites on the big day. How do you come back from that?

Well done to K/K better team won,but my heart absolutely goes out to Oulart. No team in Wexford has sacrificed more to win this cup and yet again it eludes them. And unfortuntely as we all know,it gets harder to keep coming back.I dont know how or if they will come back from this, but they train as hard as the county team in Wexford but just dont seem to have that last little bit, whatever it is,to get them over the line.I suppose December hurling is largely about size and physique and that would not be Oulart's strong point.

Best of luck to K/K though, great to see Offaly back on the map with 2 Leinsters in a row.

Lar and Pa will glide over a few against Klicormac

Paudie Maher will control the centre and Micky Cahill will tidy up

Well done to KK today in winning a second Leinster for Offaly clubs. A fantastic achievement. I felt that Oulart were a little jaded and were waiting for something to happen while KK were very direct and each player grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. KK were superb in all aspects - their first touch - their anticipation - their hurling on the ground- their sideline pucks - in most aspects they fought very hard and their skill level never faltered. Oulart need to rejig a little and I feel that it will not be easy to get back to the top after today for them.

I think Oulart found it hard to really get to the pace of the game - and their win last Sunday against Ballyhale took a lot out of them both mentally and physcially. KK were fresher and this showed in their hurling.

Best wishes to them. They are a fine team and contrary to oldburrin who is signing in as Carlow - we do know that club hurling in Leinster is at a very high standard indeed. Oulart I hope will be back to win the trophy next year.

oldburrin,

Coolderry were well beaten by Loughgiel on the day. What's your point? If you're saying that the standard in Leinster is poor what are you comparing it to? Munster? A Munster team hasn't won the All-Ireland since 2003-04 (Newtownshandrum) & have only been in 2 finals since. Galway then? Coolderry impressively beat the Galway champions Gort in the semi-final.

Thanks Thurles Blues.

We were all so carried away with yesterdays game we lost the real focus and purpose of the whole message board. Thurles Sarsfields. The most awe-inspiring outft weve ever witnessed and ever likely to witness. We sit here in envy of you to be apart of such an incredible thing. Thank you so much for brining us back down to earth here, and making us realise that no matter how much we talk and build up other games, nothing will ever come close to what you have.

So jealous grrrrrrrrr....

Getting beat by Loughgiel does not prove Leinster Hurling is poor.
Loughgiel have been building this team for 10-12 years, they showed how good they are in extra time against the Munster champions in Feb when Na P couldn't register a score in the 20 minutes. Again when they met Cool D they showed their class with the first half blitz. Antrim Hurling is at a low ebb mainly due to boys not committing fully to the county. At club level it is a different matter we are not sub-standard Loughgiel where very lucky in the County final when Dunloy shot 17 wides so the quality is in the County. Loughgiel will provide evidence of that in February 2013 when they take on a very strong St Thomas team from Galway.

can't agree with club hurling being poor,IMO club hurling has improved greatly the last 10 years, different training techniques, unbelievable fitness levels[last seasons championship].just because your usual household names are no longer in the big picture come business end[portumna, ballyhale, etc, etc]doesn't detract from this competition. This can only be good for our game[better than county].Great to see all these new clubs coming to the fore.New kids on the block, get used to it...

Have to agree with turfcutter I think the club championship has been very enjoyable this year, pity it is on so late in the year though! Loughiel are a serious outfit and anyone who writes them off does so at their peril. They will be 2 very entertaining semis, it is hard to pick the finalists. Thurles will be favorites in their semi just because of the names the have on their teamsheet but that will mean nothing to K/K and if Thurles underestimate them at all they will lose. Loughiel and St Thomas is a tough one to call, Loughiel are prob favorites because of their experience but the Galway champs are never going to be pushovers. Roll on February

The Club hurling championship is great, the semi finals in Febuary often provide fantastic entertainment and moving the final to St Patricks day has been a major success for the GAA.In my opinion the standard has improved greatly over the years. For 2013 Thurles have to be favourites after that I would give Thomases a great chance and i would rule out the others either.
