Do people think Oulart-the-Ballagh will finally get over the line in Leinster?

I think the Oulart match will be really close. Oulart must be in the top 5 club sides in the country (Portumna, De La Salle, Ballyhale, Thurles Sars, Oulart) in terms of their performance over the last 4 years and the fact that I'd say there are only 3 or 4 of their team who haven't played for Wexford. Ballyhale are a savage team though, should be a great match! Is it on TG4 or do I have to drive down to the Park from Dublin on Saturday?

Congratulations to Thurles on winning their first ever provincial title after 40+ years of dismal failure at this level. It must have been hard for them to watch clubs from Cork (17 times), Clare(10), Limerick(6) and Waterford(5) hoisting the Munster trophy through all those years but they never lost hope and their ultimate success will be an inspiration to less successful sides all over the country. It can only be good for the game to see new teams making a breakthrough like this.

Finsceal - I would put them in a top 6. The 6 are in no particular order.

Oulart have won 7 of the last 9 Wexford championships, Ballyhale 5 of the last 7 KK championships, Thurles 3 of the last 4 Tipp champs, De La Salle 3 of the last 5 Waterford championships, and Portumna I still reckon would beat a lot of county teams on their day. Loughgiel have won 3 in a row in Antrim and an All-Ireland and are a savage team.

I dunno if you can include Portumna as one of the top teams, back in the day they were brilliant but they aren't the same team they once were.

No sign of Mulman Pinkie and Richie cats they all seem to be gone to ground after the result yesterday

like you went to ground for the 3 months after that embarrasment of an AI semi performance this year

Wow nice win Blues. Looks a lot like 2010 with the county winning the AI. Ye were very impressive against an under strength team once again..

Oulart and Ballyhale should be a classic. Wexford boys are due a big win and I think Saturday might be it. Their always tough in Wexford Park which will shade it for them. If Oulart win they should go on to meet the mighty Loughgeil Shamrocks in the final....

Did Oulart not beat James Stephens in last year's championship? It should be a cracker (hopefully). It is folly to bet against any team containing Henry Shefflin hence I have a slight fancy for Ballyhale..but not by much.

Oulart would want to improve a lot on their performance against Kilmacud if they are to have a chance.

I would agree that Oulart on paper are a match for anyone but their problem is exactly your post. They have been put up on a pedastal over the past few years but when it comes down to it have failed to deliver in the Leinster club championship. I think theyve been hyped up a bit and it has gotten to them on the big occasions. Once again they are being hyped up and instead of going in to this game under the radar and Id worry about that. I dont think you can put them on a par with Ballyhale or the other clubs you have mentioned until they actually go and win a Leinster. Would be nice to see them do it this year but its time for them to deliver before it becomes too late

would certainly agree with draydis there as regards portumna.think they've failed to get out of Galway the last 2 or 3 years and are now a pale shadow of their former selves, much more of a one man team.Don't write off the current champions LoughgielShamrocks just yet,an exceptional team...

Hard to know on Oulart.I thought when they bet James Stephens last year that this was there year,I think they thought the same but Coolderry caught them on the hop.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think they might just have missed their chance unfortunately.I will gladly be proven wrong on Saturday though and although from a rival club to Oulart, they are representing the county and I wish them all the best and hope they win.

Same as, from a rival club to Oulart but hope they do the business at the weekend. Last year I think they were a better team than Coolderry, but fell into the same old problem for Wexford teams- having a huge game against the team from Kilkenny and underestimating everyone else. They actually have hurled well v KK teams in the past, but then lost to an Offaly or Dublin team. I don't think they are overrated though. They have excellent players (not my fave player, but not many clubs can survive with a player like Mick Jacob only on the bench). They are the model by which all Wexford teams should follow. And not what most people think, throw away footballs, but the way that they constantly bring through young players, work hard at coaching at underage level, and generally take their whole club seriously. The vast majority of Wexford clubs take the whole thing as a big joke.

Would someone help me me out here I see that Oulart The Ballagh beat Ballyhale Shamrocks by a point and I am all confused.

I was on this site back at the middle of October and all the experts and media analysts said that Ballyhale Shamrocks had already won the All-Ireland club championship. I was thinking something wasnt right because its normally not played until Paddys day.

So I guess its down to the famous Blues and Oulart now in one semi am i right? Pity we were hoping for Ballyhale ah well!

Thurlesblues, did Oulart get a bye to the all ireland semis? Cos I thought that today's winners were due to play Kilcormac Killoughey in the Leinster final?

With Loughgiel winning last year, along with the exploits of St Thomas and Thurles etc. the club championship is actually way better than the inter county one at the moment.Well done Oulart and best of luck from now on (although I think that an all Ireland club medal would be a nice way for Lar and Padraig Maher to bite back at the armchair haters)

I guess you would be wrong as per usual,Oulart still have to play KilcormacKilloughy from Offaly in the Leinster final next weekend before they get to meet your precious Thurles in the semi...Going to stick my neck out and tip the shamrocks [loughgiel] to retain their title and if its not to be then ANYBODY but Thurles please God.Thurles your usual Tipperary arrogance is totally unfounded and disgusting...

Thurles have won 32 county titles in Tipperary
Ballyhale have won 14 county titles in Kilkenny so no comparison there in standards.

I know Ballyhale have won the All-Ireland club championship 2 times and Thurles have never won it.
Il make a statement that Thurles will win it this year and the team being so exceptionally young I will also go on to say that they could win 4 or 5 of these club championships this decade.
