Should the barriers be taken down?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Yeh the McHugh moment was lovely. I hope to be in that position myself someday, would mean so much more than winning one yourself. The barriers have to stay, theres nothing worse than losing a huge match then to be stampeded by an unsympathetic ecstatic mob who look like they've had too much power. As for health & safety, people will sue at the drop of a hat in this country, all it takes as someone said earlier, is a bad day at the office and disaster strikes.

The new thing for players to worry about is nowadays they're spending so much energy and their bodies are tested to the limit in these games, I'd imagine they would at least need some air!

It has worked fine over the last couple of years so why change it, we've been very lucky over the years in Croker, very lucky!

From watching on tv last year (thought the bit with Paul caffrey was special) and being there in the flesh this year...invasions have to end. I remember as a kid storming the fench in 92, but allowing the team a lap of honour is the only way to go. Someone said the invasion should remain at the ulster final. No. I was on hill this year so the only view I had was a pitch full of bodies. It would have been great to see the lads come round and give them a proper cheer.

Pitch invasions are a thing of the past. I'm glad. Players on the pitch spectators in the stands.

Srgt slaughter

Complete and utter poppycock! Pitch invasions are a thing of the past. Muck savages and cavemen mentality. Last Sunday was a joy to behold and I didn't hear one Donegal supporter afterwards complaining about not getting onto the pitch. If anything, any supporters who would have previously been in favour of pitch invasions were adamant that allowing the players their moment and allowing all supporters join in the celebrations from the stands was much better and much more civilised. A scene that Donegal supporters will remember for the rest of their lives

I watched Championship matters last night & they reported that all the demand now was for Hill16 tickets because of last Sunday.

Seals the argment for me.
