Donegal's three in a row: who will stop them?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I don't think anyone will come close. Down or Derry probably have the best chance of beating them if Donegal take their eye off the ball but if they make the final they will win it easily. Fair play to them, they are so close to creating donegal history.

They are catching up on the other teams in terms of total Ulster wins.
1: Cavan 39
2: Armagh 14
3: Monaghan 13
4: Tyrone 13
5: Down 12
6: Antrim 10
7: Donegal 7
8: Derry 7
9: Fermanagh 0

Never knew cavan had so many ulster titles.

Surprise to see donegal and derry near the bottom yet both have 7 each. Very competitive province.

Donegal now look like clear favourites for Ulster, but there is always a slight chance of a major shock. It will be Interesting to see the other side of the draw fairs out, with Monaghan, Antrim, Cavan and Fermanagh all in with an equal shout of reaching an Ulster final.
Whichever team does reach the Ulster final from that side of the draw, will have gained valuable experience and confidence from their winning run.

Down are up next. Donegal have never been 1/6 favs against anybody. Wonder how they'll fare!

So they have handled the 2nd and 3rd best teams in Ulster with relative ease. The famous 3 in a row looks on. Cavan will put up a better test than Monaghan so I hope it's them.

I would favour Cavan in the other Semi final, However it would be foolish to write off Monaghan. Either way, the reigning Ulster Champions & All Ireland Champions await them in the Ulster final. Neither of these two sides are push overs, and there will be no hammerings dished out in this final, regardless of who Donegal play.

Donegal contest their 12th Ulster final in 24 years, and are looking to win 3 x Ulster titles in a row for the first time in their history. They will be hungry to achieve this 3 in a row, especially since they have emerged from the tougher side of the Ulster draw for the 3rd year running.

Also worth noting that Donegal could well be at full strength for the first time this season.

That's some record in itself there.

If a county is to stop Donegal, it will either be Dublin or Mayo.

Haha, my Kerry friend, I would add your own great county and Cork to that list. Don't think for one second you're being overlooked!

To win 10 matches in a row during the current run in Ulster is very impressive and the tough games certainly helps them when they get on the All-Ireland stage. I though they would win the three in a row this year and I see no reason why they can not win the All-Ireland as well.

Actually game2halves, Wayno1 has even said himself, if you ever actually read of any his posts that he doesn't think Dublin will win the all ireland this year either.
The winner will in my opinion come from either Donegal,Dublin or Mayo this year. Thats just my opinion anyway....so in answer to the original post Dublin or Mayo can stop Donegal.

My money would be on Donegal to win the All-Ireland. They have already beat two Division 1 teams, both tough intense games. Yesterday in particular will stand them in good stead for when they get to Croke Park. Dublin are Donegal's biggest threat, their strength and depth is unreal. The reason I don't mention Mayo is because they are yet to be challenged, we will have a better idea after they play a top 8 team if they have to capabilities of winning Sam this year. Without Cillian O'Connor I can't see it. Though we shall see.

It will be very hard to stop donegal the only chance is one of the top 6 teams and it will have to be in croke park ,and the team will have to really make use of the space ,
