Will Mayo win the All Ireland?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I have only seen this thread today as I was in the RDS at a certain Mr.Springsteen......in the words of the boss: "I believe in a promised land " - Mayo fans, myself included will always and can always dream about winning sam and I think we think about it every day......its become our mirage.

Can our current team win an all Ireland.....we sure why not but not this year. I think we are two class forwards from winning an all Ireland.....cant stop us dreaming of the glory days that may lie ahead - that;s what life is all about.

No chance of winning an All Ireland, the likelihood is that they'll have to beat at least 2 very good teams to win it. They might get lucky with their draw in the Q/Final draw but there's simply not enough scores in that team to beat 2 good teams from there onwards.

They are going to be hard to beat but when you don't have any forward who looks like he's going to get more than a couple of points from play you're going to struggle to beat a top team. Going to have to find a couple of forwards from somewhere to bring home that All Ireland in the next few years.

I could well be proved wrong come late September but based on the evidence over the last 18 months this Mayo team is not in a position to win it.

Going by the tactics they used against Sligo mayo have every chance of winning the All Ireland League in rugby.Top quality neck high tackles that the All Blacks would be proud of!

Bored much? The saffron army are having a great time in Thurles. Oh to still be involved!

The only bad tackle's were in the last min when Sligo needed a goal. They were more tactical fouls than dirty. I'd have done the exact same in their position and so would every team in the country so get down off your high horse good lad!

I hope you are right. As it stands they are the only team that could stop us.

Mayo won't beat Dublin. This will be Dublin's All-Ireland. Mayo will do the 3 in-a-row in Connaught but it'll be Tyrone denying Dublin their 3 in-a-row All-Ireland bid.

Well what do you all think now? I have been right all year with my predictions. Time for some credit for Paddy. I hope some of the contributors for this thread will eat a bit of humble pie.

Paddy you haven't won the AI. Look at the thread title. Most people said no and they could still be right.

For whats its worth I think Donegal will win. I hope Mayo do but think Donegal will.

Best of luck to ye.

I really wouldn't begrudge mayo winning the all Ireland, they're well due it, especially for their loyal supporters and their players who have really performed well all year. U though paddy are certainly not one of the nicer mayo fans so.. C'mon Donegal :-)
