Will Mayo win the All Ireland?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I personally think we have a great chance. Our only bogey team down through the years have been in Kerry, who are currently in very poor form. Hoganstand have them even ranked at No.9. The fantastic victory against Sligo has now given us the ability to win Ugly as well. The big teams left are Tyrone, Dublin and Cork. We have beaten all them down through the years.

Have a chance there is at least 5 counties that can win any one on their day and it will depend on the quarter and semi final pairings but im not sure mayo will.

Mayo can win Sam,

if Dublin, Cork, Donegal ,Tyrone, Kerry, Kildare ,Meath, and Down go on strike for the rest of the year.

Only in your Dreams Mayo.....

Two quality forwards short of been All Ireland-winning quality in my book. Well organized and strong defensively, Barry Moran and Aidan O'Shea will be a very effective midfield pairing but you'd worry about their forward unit which is still overly reliant on Andy Moran.

They have a chance if they avoid Kerry. Think Mayo's full forward line will cost them in the end. If we had Kilcoyne and Mortimer in squad we would have more options and a bigger scoring threat but obviously that is not going to happen at this stage. They look very strong defensively and Moran and O'Shea in midfield are as good if not better than any other midfielders. Will need to hit top form and a bit of luck but sure ya never know!

Not sure Paddy but I think you got over a seriously decent team with Sligo yesterday and I surely this is the most open of AI's for a good few years so definitely in there with Cork, Dublin, Donegal ,Tyrone, Kerry, Kildare and Down

No the big teams for Mayo to worry about are Cork, Dublin, Donegal, Kerry, Kildare, and Tyrone. You might take one big scalp in the championship, but never two on the trot. That is why Mayo fail.
You caught Cork last season, and then crumble against Kerry.

They are in a quarter final... all depends on the draw. No reason why they should fear anyone

Poor stuff against Sligo... but with the tactics deployed by both counties.. it was never going to be a nice game.

Finals are for winning. They did that ugly... but the result would have been the same either way. A nice trophy and a place in an AI quarter final.

I'd take that. Mayo will cause every team left trouble.. and have proven that they are capable of beating anyone.
