Just saw this thread now - phlean iontach culann!

Tá go leor caint anseo faoin 'true gaels' agus mar sin, ach nuair a bhfuil duine ar bith ag caint Gaeilge níl na daoine sin áit ar bith!

Bíonn ag caint ar ghaeil anseo a abhainn agus ní thuigeann cén chiall atá leis an bhfocal gael go fiú. (People come on here talking abouts gaels yet some of them don't even know what the word gael means!)

Ok I'm going to have a guess at this OLLIE, something to do with Joe Sheridan being a superb footballer for Meath and Dublin having the daylights beat out of them in the leinster final. Is that in the right ball park or am I being way too ambitious.

With all due respect I think we should avoid the reasons people do or do not like the language. It would be best not to get off the subject. Its a GAA forum so we should try to keep it relevent.

By the way, I think administrators have Gaeilge here. I let rip at someone as Gaeilge and it my post wasn't approved. I'm not sure you would get away with your 'choice words'!!

Could You have gone off on something irrrelevant Perhaps?

Im' a Gael and can be fully confident of the fact despite having given up being fluent in it years ago despite the efforts of the little Irelanders that have destroyed the language through their domineering attitude to it. It has just become an industry as a result teahers, lanfdladies, summer schools civil servants translators, signwriters trousering billions over the years. It's a scam on a par with the TB eradication scheme, although the irish Language industry could claim more success at eradication.

You need to have the name in Irish and English apparently, you may be leaving yourself open to an objection later on

Cé mhéad atá agat anois?
Bhí an snáth Gaeilge iontach ach fós bhí fuath na teanga ann, bheadh leathanach deighilte níos fearr.
