Down v Monaghan

i think that win by down says alot more about monaghan than what it does about down....how many teams in the country would go 8 points up against an ordinary down side, keep them scoreless from play for 45 mins...and loose...not many id say....a shocking second half collapse from monaghan

My hurling team got badly beaten for once.....thats a rare thing.....your own pretenders are 'always' getting hammered!!!

Thats 3 championship games in a row against Kilkenny have hammered them so it would seem its a fairly comment thing

That's the second really decent game at the athletics ground in the USFC - maybe the Ulster knockers wills be manly enough to admit that real excitement and unpredictability again is delivered from the menu.
Hard luck Monaghan well recovered Down. Some dreadful refereeing and a very lucky Conor Garvey - stamp on the back/ neck.
Good to see Liam Doyle back cool head. Not sure why took mceneaney so long to get Corey off Lafferty. Freeman seems to be used increasingly as a sub not sure why as that kind of talent is in short supply.

If this was a boxing match oul snuf would have been pulled out by his corner by now on humanitarian grounds....to save him from anymore punishment; watch it snuf you don't want to end up punchdrunk.

The best games this year have all been in Ulster but the usual partitionists and begrudgers outside the province would rather have their teeth pulled with no anaesthetic before admitting that.

the only reason monaghan looked so good in the first half was because 'ordinary' down were very cold in that first half........when down upped it in the second half they made monaghan look like the average to poor div 3 team that they are.....

The sign of a beaten man is to try and proclaim that his opponent is defeated in the hope that he will give up!!

Ulsterman, this is a most poor attempt!! You know by now that nobody will ever have the class, wit, education or stamina to topple Ol Snuffy!!!......especially not a nordie or a mullah!

What is changing the subject when you've been proven wrong time and time again say about a man?

That's the second Dub who refers to themselves in the third person....not attractive but sure neither is distasteful labelling

This is the reason Ulster people are protective of it - where would you get it.

WTF God damn another game thrown away, played some lovely football in the first half controlled good passing and some nice point taking. Second half that all went out the window long aimless balls in to the forwards that we're easily cut out. Once Down got the pen just before half time (should have had 1 in second to) i knew we were in trouble only 6 up against the wind for the second half and Down was never going to be as bad in second half.
But well done Down deserved to win a fairer ref and it would have been by more, best of luck in the final at least our minors won a little consolation.

Oh, dear Lord!! He speaks about Ulster football like as if its something special to be protected!!
Ye are as alien to the rest of us up there as the ones which occupy ye if ye think ye have a good brand of football!!

May the ground open up and swallow me whole if Leinster football ever became the aul slobbering pullin and draggin ye get up to up there!!!

They have a 'close game' up there with some last minute dramatice and they think its the best thing the GAA has ever seen!!.....Jaysus wept!!

Can only imagine the bile that would have been directed at the referee had Down not won.

Some great scores by both teams but as for the referee, he was very poor.

Snuff, somehow I think it's better than watching Dublin hammer a pathetic Louth on a damp, wet, half empty Croker.

Don't mind him ograandun, the poor chap is still sore after his
counties inevitable drubbing at the hands of kilkenny yesterday!

It will be the same when dublin footballers get dumped out of the AI!
Its very immature in all fairness!

Down played well today, showed great resilience to come back,
and the athletic grounds is a great park for atmostphere! ;)
