I think the Meath Team for Sunday will be:

1.D.Gallagher
2.D.Keoghan
3.K.Reilly
4.E.Harrington
5.D.Tobin
6.B.Menton
7.M.Burke
8.C.Gillispe
9.B.Meade
10.A.Forde
11.S.Bray/M.Collins
12.G.Reilly
13.P.Gilesanan
14.J.Sheridan
15.B.Farrell/S.Bray

I would make a few changes from the Wicklow match some are forced like S.Kenny out because of injury and bring D.Keoghan as indirect replacement as believe he can be very effective in the at corner back and will be able to adapt to the position better then D.Tobin and I think Tobin and Burke will be strong runners and good ball winners in the half back line another change I would make would be E.Harrington in for S.McArnany as think is more suited to this position a better man marker and I think he will need game time because if we win we will need man markers like him against Kildare, the other changes I would be making are P.Gilesanan for C.Ward I think C.Ward needs some time on the bench to show him he needs to improve his performances and start playing to his ability, I think I would probbaly bring S.Bray in for M.Collins but I am also thinking that we should leave M.Collins in and bring S.Bray on at some stage for game time because I think we should have enough to beat Carlow with S.Bray on the bench and give M.Collins more experince at this level which he needs.
I think the score will be:

Meath 2-15

Carlow 0-10

and I think Meath should be well able to beat Carlow with somthing to spare and should be doing so if we are serious about giving Kildare a run for their money.

No its not on. RTE are showing live Galway v Sligo on Sat at 6pm, Kerry and Cork on Sun at 2pm and Armagh and Tyrone at 4pm.

That's understandable. No point showing this live probably won't be nearly as good as the two big ones on Sunday.

I like that team ziggy but I can see McAnarney starting in the defense ahead of O'Brien!

it's funny how in experienced thedefence you pick compared to the attack in your team ziggy. i'd go with a team along those lines and if we can get over carlow the game will bring all those new lads on a good bit. it's not like were kerry or dublin who would be wasting their time with a team like carlow.

No disrespect intended but I think we should have enough to see off Carlow, they had a poor league campaigne (like ourselves) but we were operating 2 divisions above Carlow and also historically we've done very well against them in the championship so that should give us the psychological edge. Now having said all that if don't treat Carlow with the same respect as we'd treat any other team then we could be in for a nasty surprise.

True enough Htaem. Louth only had to turn up to beat them last year and look what happened. It was Carlows first championship win against Louth after 11 attempts.

Dub1 suggests this score:

Meath 2-09 Carlow 1-06

I reckon it might be closer; Meath 1-10 Carlow 1-09 as the weather forecast is looking very wet, and the referee is unknown with the "square ball" rule (it has'nt been tested yet in any game far as I can see ) - it might'nt be a classic!

Well thats it Ollie, Louth would have been hot favourites to beat Carlow last year and look what happened, it was a case of them having nothing to lose and under no pressure either, they'll be feeling the exact same on sunday against us so we'll have to be focused.

Haven't seen to much of Harro lately, which is why I would go with O'Brien,I also agree that it is likely McAnarney will play

yes Ollie but I still think Meath have better players than Louth and this would be a bigger surprise than that one last year

The referee is unknow with the square ball rule? What dya mean by that?

And as for the rule not being tested yet, what about the Longford Laois game 3 weeks ago?

We'll do well to stay within 10 pts i reckon. Sad for us but probably will come true. Can see our backs ripped apart and Meath to get at least 2 goals.

Just read in the chronicle that McAnarney is new captain, bit surprised, would of expected Reilly or Bray myself!

if big joe didn't fly away for 2 months i'd say he would have been captain.
