Crowd Attendance

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I simply cannot believe the GAA are charging €35 in to the Leinster hurling final next weekend. That is absolute madness of the highest order. I would have went to see our minors playing if it had been €20 maximum but I am not willing to part with more than that I am afraid.
People are being put off by high prices and the sooner the GAA learn that the better. Lower price = bigger attendance = more promotion.

Tullamore or Portlaoise should be hosting the LSHC Final and not Croke.

Portlaoise would be more than plenty big. But the GAA dont do sensible decisions....

County: Cork
.Cork only follow the hurlers

Why is that luke? It's not like there is no interest in football in cork - there are probably more football clubs in cork than any other county in ireland

Shocking attendance , Cork people don't deserve a team of that quality but they willl be up in croker in sept in their droves looking for tickets with their annoying accent. Enough to make any true gaa followers vomit.

Cork hurling supporters are in east Cork compared to west Cork which is the football supporters base.I think we will really find out what our support is like when we play Offaly in the qualifiers in Cork.I would expect 20,000+ for the game though. As for the Munster final it is big ask for people in Castlehaven, Bantry and Skibbereen all football strongholds to drive the trip to limerick which would be a 4 hour plus trip just to see Cork hammer Clare. This is from a previous post

Terrible crowd but i dont agree with the idea of the munster council going back to seeding the munster championship just to get bums on seats. No matter what people say about us and when the throw the one liner at us of not winning anything. Im proud that kildare fans will follow the kildare team in their droves regardless.

The Leinster final crowd was poor as well. How may people will be claiming to have been there in the years ahead?!

23.500 at Cork v Kerry (Mainly Cork Supporters), 32,000 at Cork v Tipp, Cork v Offaly last night had at least 13,000 because it was pay at the gate and U16's were free so the official attendance was way off, and 9,000 at Cork v Clare. Cork supporters yet again getting a slatting but no mention of Clare 's poor support?? Cork hurlers are playing again Saturday, even the die hard fans will find it hard to attend all the games in the current climate.

The crowd thing is getting concerning alright.
But the leinster final will put that right I'd say close to 70k will turn up for the classic meath v dublin game.

51longago I think you'll find we have had the highest supported games of the year so far even beating some double headers which were held around the county. Also when talking about true GAA supporters then the great hurling and football county of cork is surely right at the top of the pile, no other supporter deserves an AI ticket more than thsoe who try and follow both of their teams around the country. Id love to see the Mayo hurling attendances down through the years.

Here you are again finding fault, knocking? Cork don't have to prove their commitment to the GAA at all levels and sexes, unlike your own backwater. Your on about ten threads peddling the same negativity, usually about hurling truly sad.
