exactly a lot of northern teams are better supported despite the fact half of their communities hate the GAA and won't follow it. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 27/08/2012 19:59:40 1253501 Link 0 |

yes but we and donegal have good support anyway despite the fact (well in meaths case) we haven't been contenders for 10 years now. i was just saying the support would be huge if we had any chance of an all ireland. one of the things i was giving out about was counties that don't have good support even when they are going well like kerry and cork. you don't see man united fans not bothering to go to a match just because they've seen there team win 10 leagues in 20 years or whatever they've won. Just to clarify Betty, and I'm not having a go at you, but you were talking about the big games. Now Donegal played Kerry and Cork in Dublin, two big teams, that had a part in their massive suuport too, would you not agree? I mean, if they were playing the likes of Limerick, etc, it wouldn't be seen as a big draw and wouldn't catch their imagination in the same way as a game against Kerry or Cork would. donegal had far more games to play this year than cork and they have been in croke park a fair bit over the last decade. I don't think it would matter who they were playing they would have still half filled croker by themselves. did kerry bring 40,000 for all ireland semi's of the 00's after there period of absence from the late 80's to the late 90's? No they didn't so you have to admit the people of donegal are coming out to support them far better than you ever have! BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 29/08/2012 18:22:55 1255211 Link 0 |

I was at the match last Sunday and was sitting beside 2 Monaghan men, shouting for Donegal, In Ulster we shout for club, county and the province or provincial champions cuchulainn35 (Armagh) - Posts: 1688 - 30/08/2012 21:55:21 1255942 Link 0 |

looks like the dubs will come out of hiding after all. must have been afraid of what i'd post on here if they didn't. i expect nothing less than a full house. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 01/09/2012 19:49:17 1256946 Link 0 |

If it surpasses 82,000 I will come on here and say it's enough, anything less and you will be slated. I imagine 10 years from now they won't even open the hill except for finals if this downward curve is anything to go by. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 01/09/2012 21:23:35 1257013 Link 0 |

as expected it didn't break the 82,000 mark. not good enough. great game all the same dublin's ultra negative tactics were exposed and forced to play a bit of ball. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 02/09/2012 20:46:44 1257600 Link 0 |
