36 - Stop the clock like the ref's do in rugby. This will put an end to any injury time controversy.

Allow goalkeepers kick-out from the ground or from a tee. Let the goalie decide.

Great idea, I was at a C'ship match last year where the injury time wasn't even played. Joke

Beaten provincial finalists should get a home draw for next game which takes place 2wks after provincial final. This rubbish about beaten provincial losers going out 6 days later is nonsense.

56 ideas by my count. Keep the idea's coming. Dont comment on any idea. If you want to comment, set up a new thread.
If we get enough good ideas we could(should) even look to sending the list to GAA HQ signed by our real names and not the pseudonyms we use here

The GAA are doing a good job in helping other sports. Dreadfully organised league and championships. The All-Ireland will still sell-out despite the cost. All they seem to care about.

57) all democratic decisions taken by the GAA should be overridden by any bunch of crackpots that can write their own names

The acronym GREAT is used in solution generation - Generate, Reduce, Evaluate and Tie together. What this thread is about is the "G" - generating ideas only.
Nothing wrong with coming up with idea's and if there is some ideas that look like they could really work, whats wrong with sending them into Croke Park to see if they could work. Most if not all the posters here are involved in clubs as coaches, players, etc so would benefit if some ideas were actually looked at.
dhorse dont be such a snob looking down at the thread. If you dont like the thread dont read it

IN ORDER TO EVALUATE WHETHER I LIKE IT OR NOT I REALLY NEED TO READ IT. I'M SURE YOU CAN COME UP WITH SOME ACRONYMIC JARGON FOR THAT

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sending anything into Croke Park. however I would suggest that these posters you refer to as being club members would realise that The chances of any of these 100 ideas, good bad or indifferent, being acted upon are zero.they will know that proposals need to be worked through the system within the GAA or instigated by HQ.

Keep up the good work, only 40 to go.

58. Engage with stakeholders in the tourism industry to attract more of our foreign visitors to our stadia - both Croke Park and nationwide. This could be done via weekend packages involving the Croke Park Hotel, or tour buses stopping off at regional venues which would boost tourism in the likes of Thurles, Ballina etc.

59. Offer GAA camps to the international audience. We have a strong expat network internationally who have children growing up and playing our games abroad. Similar to the Irish Colleges, a GAA Camp would offer the kids a 1-3 week holiday in Ireland where the can receive some coaching and learn about Irish culture or even improve their English language skills in their downtime. In the short run it would boost revenues for both the GAA and the country, and in the long run it would possibly provide benefits to sustainable growth of the games abroad.

60. Similar to the Tain Hurling League, introduce a regional club football league for weaker football counties. The South East is the most obvious location - Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Tipp are all at a development stage in football and have had little success at club provincial level.

61. Align underage age levels with school year not calendar year, to stop splitting up groups of school friends and hopefully keep more kids playing Gaelic games rather than moving to other sports which are already aligned to the school year and allow these kids to stay together playng their sport.

62) Encourage more women to attend games by having a best dressed lady competition at each championship game. Both county and provincial, Winner receiving tickets to finals.

It works for horseracing, showjumping, etc

Team captains are the only players allowed to speak to the ref - like rugby. If you have a gripe speak to your captain. (there is no respect for gaa refs - they are not all bad)

Introduce 2 refs?

Goading = yellow card

Name and shame fans who act the pup

Hooter to keep time

Free for blocking players' runs off the ball

69) get rid of the parallelogram, it's only causing confusion amongst the hard of understanding

70) linked in with idea 19. Penalise professional interchange fouling. This is the practice where one player fouls
usually outside scoring range, they take turns, no-one gets red-carded and teams are
prevented from running at or getting momentum.

If a player commits over 3 of these fouls instead of giving them a yellow card introduce a 21yard free from the third foul onwards. Keep yellow and red cards for dangerous play etc etc

70. Have u10/12 players coming onto the field with the senior players before club games, kind of like the mascots in soccer. Then have them playing a quick game at half time.

It would be great for them playing in front of large crowds and would help boost the numbers at this young level. Thery are the games future after all

71) in order to facilitate 70 and participation by players with children, creches (free) should be establised at every ground

72) Group supporters more together at matches instead of having them all completely mixed which takes away from the atmosphere.

73) Do to Antrim hurling and football what they did with Dublin. The population is there.

74) When teams play Dublin in Croke park such as Meath and Kildare offer their supporters tickets at the same price as the hill but for the lower canal. Offer all the lower canal end tickets to the team (Meath Dublin etc) just like Dublin get all the Hill tickets.

75) Play more club championship games early on in the year to stop the clog up at the end.

76) Make documentaries for the big games such as all provincial finals, Kerry v Cork, Meath V Kildare, Meath v Dublin, Kildare v Dublin, Tyrone v Armagh, Galway v Mayo, every all-ireland game from the quarters up and all the big hurling matches or any football match with a lot of hype surrounding it. I don't know if any of you seen the Meath v Dublin 2005 short film but it made great viewing.

Click here to see an example of what I mean.
