galway been made look better than they are by a bad roscommon side,if galway play against mayo the way they did today then mayo will be in for a handy enough victory imo anyway, dont get me wrong galway playing really well but were never really tested today mayo will be some challenge for them.

Dave your not making any sense? Galway were outstanding today so how could you say mayo would beat them by the way they played today?? We all know Roscommon were poor but to say mayo would have beaten Galway today doesn't make sense.

I know you have a dislike for Galway, Dubbydave but in fairness , Galway kick passing and open football was very refreshing.. On that display we wouldn't beat Mayo, but its an encouraging result

A lot of teams could take note.

Fantastic display of FOOTball by Galway. Was very impressed by Paul Conroy at full forward and bergin/armstrong/sice were all on top. in fact Galway were on top on nearly every position on the field. The only roscommon player who stood out was Gregg when he ran at duane. Roscommon lacked space and never got going.

Galway will be hard beat in Connacht now while this defeat may set roscommon back. They will surly have to introduce more u-21 players in the back door and use this year as a mission of blooding these players for senior next year.

I love the Galway style of football. They are going to have a big say in the championship this year. Great to see Meehan back.

ah im not saying anything about galway they played well and deserved the win but today as said roscommon played terrible giving galway the full run of the pitch to pass freely push forward and get the job done,as for galway v mayo there is no way galway will get that much space or time on the ball and thats why i say mayo would win imo.

Yes they have the right manager for the job,Mullholland is a traditional Galway man,and knows all the young players,Galway going outside the county for managers did not help them. They tried to change their style of play, for example Meath are were Galway were a few years ago in that aspect

Hopefully Meehan can get fit and back to his best, because for me,he is the best forward in the country when he is,and yes, better than Cooper, better than Brogan etc etc

Its hard to underestimate how pathetic Roscommon were though, but I have tipped Galway from the start.

Oh I agree with you, obviously Mayo will be the tougher assignment,in fact Sligo will do better than Ros did today,BUT I found it refreshing in the manner that Galway played,I actually enjoyed it.None of this boring blanket defense,hand-passing every time or picking athletes rather than natural footballers

Great win for us. Didn't expect to have it so easy at all but fantastic to see Galway win playing their traditional style of football. I don't think anyone in Galway will be getting carried away and certainly Alan Mulholland won't as he's a fairly down to earth fella at the best of times. Galway have Sligo now at home and if they win that it could set up a potential Galway v Mayo Connacht final in Salthill. Have to get past Sligo first though which won't be as easy as today turned out to be.

on a lighter note yes it was a good game to watch in all fairness and also a good spirited game from start to finish..

It's home and away so this year we were due to be away to Roscommon if we met and at home to Sligo and Mayo if we met.
