Just watched Laochra Gael last night and I think it is fair to say that Jimmy will go down in GAA history as the greatest dual player ever. MARNELL (Westmeath) - Posts: 728 - 20/04/2012 09:16:42 1156340 Link 0 |
As dual players go, he was one of the best. Not many people in the history of the GAA can say they have a Sam Maguire & Liam McCarthy medal. What an achievement. Rebel.Og (Cork) - Posts: 519 - 20/04/2012 10:01:59 1156374 Link 0 |

Yeah, JBM kind of made that point near the end Perfect10. He also acknowledged that if he'd been born in another county, he may not have won half as much. But in the end, when you're acknowledging greatness, if and buts, are just interesting sideshows. It's like the KK team that Shefflin is a part of. They are the greatest team of all time. They may not have been IF Cork didn't have their share of internal strife. BUT what if Sheedy had stayed with Tipp or arrived on the scene sooner? What IF KK hadn't had the consistency of management they had under Cody? None of those ifs or buts can alter the fact that KK have produced the greatest team that ever played the game. I think the best dual player at the moment is your man Higgins from Mayo - serious player. sportsfan14 (USA) - Posts: 281 - 20/04/2012 11:11:17 1156449 Link 0 |

I cant believe some of the names on the list who are ahead of Denis Coughlan of Cork,he was a classy hurler and footballer,I saw him play both codes and in my estimation he should be up at the top of any list of dual players mooncat (Kilkenny) - Posts: 538 - 20/04/2012 12:18:59 1156505 Link 0 |
