Should Cannabis be legalized and alcohol banned?

Seamus, why would it only be 'the brits' coming over? Or more importantly, why would you only have a problem with the brits coming over as opposed to anyone else?

YewTree, I think you need to open your mind a little bit. For instance
ALRIGHT BAN DRINK, one of the last pleasures left in this country, close the entire country down, what the hell sure we are already on the road to a dictatorship.

You are against drugs, but then call drink (which is also a drug) 'a pleasure'. Cant someone else have the same opinion towards other drugs and be as correct as you are here? You are letting the existing man-made laws influence your judgement on the subject.

You can have ONE pint and be deamend not safe to drink, yet be stones of your head and who has ever been trsted for drug driving in this country?

Well first off, there is testing for drug driving. But secondly are you advocating drink driving?

Who would you rather have visiting Ireland...boozed up hen party's/ stag parties or a few hippies sitting in a coffee shop smoking a reefer?

I'd side with the boozed up hen party's every day of the week thank you. Some craic.

It is true that dope and being loud don't go hand in hand. However the friends I have who regularly smoke dope also happen to be dosser's on the dole. They also tend to dabble in harder drugs. I understand this doesn't apply to every pothead but marijuana doesn't lend itself to be a dynamic young go-getter. I have nothing against anyone doing any drugs, at the end of the day it's that person's choice. I wouldn't want to make it easier for anyone to do it though because it causes more harm than good. And Jinxy surely the onus is on those that want to legalise cannabis to campaign for it and present a compelling argument. The argument that you have to try something before you can comment on it doesn't wash with me

How have I displayed a complete lack of knowledge? And how, pray tell, is God infallible? Are you a theologian by trade or just by hobby?

By opening your mouth?

Incessantly.

The more I read your post the more hilarious it gets "they'd raise hell in our nation's capital", "a load of cockney loudmouths spouting the odds" hahaha, tell me you're not being serious?

It already exists in this country - it's already here - There will be literally 10's of thousands of people smoking it tonight - good, respectable, tax paying professional people.

Why not take the control out of the criminal's hands - it's just pure common sense. Tax it, legislate for it, make it safer by taking away the GM versions, it'll become a new cash crop, you can make clothes, paper from the by products of the industry

We already have an incredibly harmful drugs culture in this country - a drug far more harmful than Cannabis.

And trust me man... in order to fully understand a subject it's helpful to have lived it, you simply cannot have the same input into this argument than those that have.

I honestly cannot understand the fear some of you have... IT'S ALREADY HERE and being controlled by criminals!! Again... why can't the anti-legalising brigade see that? Let's take the power away from these people... overnight you'll see a reduction in organised crime - they'd be losing their number one best selling product and we'll have 100's of millions being pumped into our economy instead of going into the criminals pockets.

I'll say it once more… IT'S ALREADY HERE
