Should Cannabis be legalized and alcohol banned?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

All banning anything does is increase the price and decrease the quality. Can anybody think of anything that is banned that is not available illegally?

It would be great if it didn't drive some to premature dementia and god knows what else. Especially as we know so little about what causes serious mental disorders, should make adolescence very interesting.

Alcohol is the worst drug from my own experience - I've tried just about everything else - apart from Heroin/Crack (Never legalise this poison - it's up there with Alcohol for destroying lives)

People who have never used drugs (Well illegal ones that is…getting locked doesn't count for some reason in their ignorant minds) are generally the first ones to make the most noise about legalising certain drugs.

It just goes to show the ignorance involved in this topic. I've been to Amsterdam 5 times - a fantastic city - we could learn an awful lot from them regarding public order on the weekends. Because as it stands we're in a shambles of a situation.

The fear of some of you regarding the unknown is laughable - yet you live in a country that already has a serious drug culture... both Legal and illegal - Drugs are rampant both Legal and illegal

Anyway... the ignorant will continue to rule. Morons…

... and of course the baffling reluctance to not legalise certain drugs... would have nothing to do with the Multi-Multi billion a year pharmaceuticals industry

Sure those organisations wouldn't hold any political sway… right? Or be able to influence the media… nah I doubt it… Not in our system.

How have I displayed a complete lack of knowledge? And how, pray tell, is God infallible? Are you a theologian by trade or just by hobby?

No its just a hobby like yourself

Your obvious contempt for the English is well documented on the elevenaside forum but to say we'd get "ignorant, loud, stoned brits" is we legalised cannabis is just dumb in every way. First of all being loud AND Stoned is mutually exclusive ie you have no idea what you are taking about but to make your ignorant judgement because of the potential for Brits coming over is one the stupidest things I've read in a long time.

Excellent posts Jinxy, couldn't agree more. Been to the Dam twice meself and sampled all that was on offer and to be honest I was nearly disappointed with how mild the drugs were compared to the evil, mind altering, life destroying, physically and mentally debilitating crap all the 'experts' over here had me expecting. Its embarrassing that weed is still so stigmatized in this day and age.

Don't be getting sarky yew tree. You gave your opinion and I gave mine. I'm talking about what you did say, not what you never said.

Brits wouldn't come over? Oh right, that's why there are so few of them in Amsterdam...

Also, they would be loud and stoned. Maybe not at the same time, but they'd raise hell in our nation's capital and in other cities around the country. How would you like a load of Cockney loudmouths spouting the odds in your local town in Cavan every weekend?

I never said Brits wouldn't come over just highlighting the foolishness of basing your judgement on the topic on something so brainlessly stupid.

The more the merrier if you ask me, be they cockney, loud or otherwise. I'm not the type of person who judges people on ignorant sweeping generalisations.

The more I read your post the more hilarious it gets "they'd raise hell in our nation's capital", "a load of cockney loudmouths spouting the odds" hahaha, tell me you're not being serious?

Legalize everything and let everyone do what they want, it's not exactly rocket science to realize what'll happen when you abuse any drug, be it aspirin, alcohol or coke. If people want to live in denial let them.

Why alcohol and tobacco are the only legal drugs would be an interesting thread in itself.

Mes Amis:

Just goes to prove my above point... those who are the most objective - Generally don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Yet they feel compelled to object so passionately to something that they have no any experience of whatsoever - it's the height of ignorance
