GAA Pitch Invasions can be safely carried out.

It would be interesting to see if the screen in the hill would keep in Dublin supporters if they won the hurling. I can't remember what happened in 2011? I assume the screen was there and no Dubs ran out on the field?

GAA Pitch Invasions can be safely carried out is the title of the thread yes they can be carried out safely as proved last weekend and will be proved in Clones,MacHale park this Sunday. Croke park because of high insurance cost has decided to stop supporters from entering the field thats their choice but Irelands best stadium is missing out joyful scenes that make the sport great.

Only Croke park it's "banned" On Sunday in Castlebar,Clones and all the Saturday night games will open the gates after the games to allow supporters onto the field.

Just being looking at some great photos some of my friends have uploaded to Facebook all of which were taken on the football field after the Ulster final today.

Croke Park should not be out of bounds for GAA supporters after big finals, supporters are being deprived of what could be a once in lifetime moment by not allowing people onto the Croke Park pitch. After all these are the very people who help to keep the GAA afloat aren't they.

I still maintain supporters should not be on the field of play.. Croke PArk have it right , It will take a serious injury before the rest follow suite.

Supporters are as liable to get a serious injury walking to and from a game as they are walking onto a pitch after a game.
The scenes created by pitch invasions are too great to be banned.
Todays game in clones would not be as memorable without the sea of blue and white on the field after the game.

They don't walk onto the pitch , They run onto the pitch in their hordes.. Did you see the little gates monaghan fans where trying to get out in the stand today ? Absolutely crazy.

BESIDES THE MAIN POINT HERE IS THE PLAYERS DONT WANT THEM .. Ask Bryan Cullen and the Dublin lads what they would prefer ? being engulfed on the pitch or being able to enjoy celebrations, The players win the game and play the game, Not the fans, If the players prefer fans not invading the pitch , then it should be banned all round and not just in Croke park. End of story.

Would of been even better scenes if they stayed in the stands and on the terraces.

What went on today in Clones at the end of the game was downright dangerous. On the Hill there were Monaghan supporters climbing over the terrace fence half way up & landing on top of people who were making their way out from the seated area at the front. I saw one big man launching himself with a shout of "Up Monaghan" into the crowd below. Now I know that the arrangement on the Hill in Clones is unusual but someone needs to have a long hard look at this.
