TG4 match selection

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I would love to know what Tg4 are doing by selecting the Kerry final and the Dublin hurling final as the games today when in Belfast the game of the club championship takes place. Crossmaglen play St. Galls, the 2011 All Ireland champions against the 2010 All ireland champions, also the two favourites for the crown on the 17th of March. Bit of a strange choice but suppose they don't speak irish in Armagh or Antrim, oh wait there is a gealtacht area in West Belfast.

And don't forget the small matter of the replay of the Kilkenny hurling final. Dublin ahead of Kilkenny ? I don't think so.

Good point games were probably picked ages ago tho before there was a replay in kk or st. galls and crossmaglin were announced! also its kerry and dublin so your gonna complain anyway!

Absolute disgrace - shows the regard in which Ulster football is held when current and previous AI champions aren't shown playing each other - would never happen if it was Leinster or Munster teams!!

Go away outta that with your logic and soundly based argument.

Don't you see that its clearly a conspiracy against Galls, Cross and Ulster rather than the fact that these 2 games were pencilled in long before there was a possibility of Galls and Cross playing each other?

Maybe they want to show a game of Gaelic Football rather than a brawl where a bit of Football might accidentally break out.

The past two all ireland champions taking each other on at this stage Ulster is the power house of club football and should been given airtime . st Galls to edge this affair

Im looking forward to both of tg4s games.i think its fantastic that Dublin club hurling is getting its share of the spotlight.I would however have rather seen the crossmaglen game, but as I said, the kerry final should be good.

I'd actually haved loved if the Galway Final was televised. Corofin v Tuam should be a cracker.

I agree. The two big matches that any football and hurling fan would want to see are the Galls-Cross match and the KK replay. Poor choice. But then, there are always poor choices by TG4: they seem to show the Donegal, Galway and Mayo finals every year and every year they're not worth watching. (And don't tell me its because Irish is spoken in these counties, TG4 rarely show the Cork or Waterford hurling finals)

Emm, Icehonesty, neither the Mayo or Galway finals have been shown this year.

To be fair to TG4 I would say that county finals are still priority over provincial first round ties especially when Kerry and Dublin are involved. Having said that the partitionist attitudes on HS don't surprise me one bit. The Presedential campaign of the past few weeks show that the 26 counties is in denial about the history of this island and would prefer to ignore the original Irish people in the North of the country. It must be awful to be so self hating, self loathing and in fear of Britain and Unionism that you turn on fellow Irish citizens; it is quite shameful actually.

To be fair...we would much rather forget about the North. It's apart of the UK. Why should we bother with it.

The first part of your post is correct.

The rest is your usual partitionist ramblings where you think that some Irish people are less Irish than others.

Not only are you the most partitionist poster on this site, you are also the most hypocritical.

MesAmis have you been properly following the Presidential campaign, watching the debates, reading the papers/websites? If so you will see that I am correct. The abuse directed at the two Northern candidates was hateful and bitter because of where they were from. As I say the South is in TOTAL denial about this island and it's history.
