Sorry to learn of Patrique's passing. Enjoyed reading his many posts, and found myself agreeing with most of what he had to say.
Rest In Peace Pat.

Just seen this - unlike many posters I rarely agreed with patrique...almost never goin back over ten years.
What i will say his he loved his county (more so i hope than his disdain for Tyrone) - but his knowledge not just recently but back decades was actually scary. He couldn't have that without a deep love of the game.
He certainly had my respect if not my concurrence.
His love of Gerry Armstrong among the more disturbing of his perpectives ...never mind Glen Barr.
Always intrigued me as to what he did and how he managed to get the time to post as regularly and comprehensively as he did.

Glad I was able to see him through the video's uploaded of him playing the bodhran, performing uncle Sylvest and murdering Blue moon.
An adversary but will be greatly missed..prayers and thoughts with his family.

While in my early, youthful days I had many a spat with Patrique over his slagging of all things Tyrone, I soon learned to respect him as a knowledgable and passionate Gael. Infact, I found myself agreeing with him and backing him up in his argument before long. He will certainly be missed from the threads of Hoganstand. While I was aware of his absence over time, his death was still a shock. I hope his family get an opportunity to read this and can take some comfort from their grief by seeing the profound effect he had on us lot.

Slán Patrique,
RIP

I was on the day this forum was put up but twas too late at night and ive not got a chance to get on since.

Patrique had everything on this forum. he was respected, wound up everyone, the most succinct and articulate poster ever, he had an opinion on everthing and always stuck to it.

I never met the man but had lots of battles with him on here, all light hearted stuff. Seeing that video of him singing the green fields of France brought tears to my eyes. It was a beautiful video, truly.

It wont be the same without him....

Il end this in a way that became synonymous with the man himself .... (no disrespect ment by it)

SNIGGER.....

Blue Moon, You saw me standing alone,
Without a dream in my heart,
Without a love of my own.

How sad the great man isn't here.

He had an infuriating habit of talking nothing but rubbish and half cottoned on myths about other teams aside from his own but thats what was endearing. Always enjoyed the banter.

RIP

A wee bit late for this but 4 years since the great man passed away, he was some character on here and badly missed.

4 years?

unreal. I had many a battle with him and he was some character to stick with a topic and never give up.

Genuinely miss the man from this board as every post of his was 'colourful' to say the least :-)
