Can't watch the Minor Final in the North

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

When I noticed on this site a few weeks ago that the GAA were allowing the Minor Finals to be broadcast on TV3, I was going to start a thread at the time to highlight that in parts of the North

A) TV3 is not available through terrestial TV
B) TV3 is not available through satellite TV
C) Saorview does not broadcast here yet

However I then noticed that TV3 were streaming the match online. While still not very impressed at least I was able to see the match. Looking forward to see how the Dubs get on.

HOWEVER

TV3 are only streaming the match within the Republic of Ireland.

I'd like to once again thank Croke Park for having the foresight to prevent people in parts of Ireland from watching All-Ireland Finals from the comfort of their own home.

Managed to find a stream 'elsewhere' online.

Not sure if the moderators will allow the link but I hope they'll allow the comment.

Its an absolute disgrace. Its bad enough its not being shown internationally but only in the republic. Why are TV3 showing this if they are not showing this up north. GAA shooting themselves in the foot.

.......well if ye fought a bit harder up there in the twenties ye might have been able to watch it on TV3 today!!!!!.....Jeez!!!!

Sorry, couldnt resist that one!!!

Nah, sure its just another tradition the GAA are trying to dilute!!

minor match traditions like commentary as gaeilge demoted to a peripheral channel and the minor winning captain not being able to make a speech!!

I would love to meet the brain box that decided to ruin a prviously good television presentation by putting the minor game on one channel and the senior on another, sorry but yesterday just didn't seem right. I fail to see what TV3 and 3E hope to achieve by screening minor finals and having the two matches broadcast on seperate programmes on seperate channels is pure folly in my opinion. Of course the GAA never thought of TV3's network coverage when they thought of this, even in Donegal where I live TV3 is practically non existant on terristial tv and I know many western counties have the same problem so unless you have sky or saorview you are goosed.

Thank god they didn't see it. The less hurling they see the less chance they have of thinking up tactics to ruin it just like they have tried to ruin football.

I taught the GAA would want to promote the football and hurling not just in the north but in other countrys too.surely they can at least get a live stream on the GAA website on time for the match with all the technology these days. Im sure there is lots of irish people who would want to see the game in America, Australia etc...

I think that's terrible...I believe that every person in the 32 counties should be able to watch the game in the comfort of their own home....something should be done about this....I wouldn't like it, if it was me.....
