Have you seen Damien Varley do a mean Christy Moore? Theres footage of him singing at the airport. Apparently the squad has bought him a guitar over there and he's keeping them all entertained. Google it, all the links are blocked for me.

It's been a good world cup for Ireland which is the main thing. The World Cup as a whole hasn't been that impressive.

The last British and Irish Lions tour fell apart AFTER Stephen Ferris got injurerd and had to withdraw, up to that he was their best player. EVERY decent and sensible rugby scribe has said that. Ballboy is wumming as usual but having said that there are those partitionists outside Ulster who do agree with him as they firmly hate everything about the North and Ulster, George Hook included as he admitted in his book.

if there were prizes for post the above would win hands down. ferris was the best player for the lions - that is possibly the funniest thing i have ever heard. ulsterman i hate the north in equal quantities to how much you hate the irish, the best thing is though i have control over what happen to you and your country and you have absolutely no say in anything irish- thats what hurts you and that is why you have all this anger, by all means spend the resst of your life insulting all around you- will it change anything?

team named- fingers crossed that best doesnt recover as we need decent players on the field and he is the weak link. delighted sexton has being put in his place as the definate number two - to be honest id have ian keatley there ahead of him anyways as sexton cant kick and never will be able to kick

Why does anyone respond to him? At least his heroes - O'Toole , Hook , Myers etc have the balls to write /talk pure drivel under their real names .
Any coward can post this non sensical vitriol - a sign of the times , he / she's certainly not the only one- Sure it keeps them off the streets !! ... Just ignore it .

I fancy us on Saturday to put in a big performance again and hopefully that should be enough. I definitely think we have a stronger bench too. Was delighted to see D'Arcy return to form on saturday and Earls is now contributing bigtime too . Bookies have us evens - 2 , I'd roll with that.

Ah come on now ballboy, Sexton wouldn't be much good at No.2, sure he'd get mauled by the Welsh front row.

Right glad to see Rory Best is fit enough to start. This is important and good news as will keep the continuity going in the scrum and will keep that weapon working.

Getting excited now. Haven't looked forward to an Ireland game this much since the 6 Nations decider.........

How effing disappointing was that? What is it about Irish sport and abject failure, they seem to walk hand in hand.

Well played Wales, they simply wanted it more than Ireland, that was evident from the start and got their just rewards, I hope they go further in the tournament now given who they could possibly face in the semis. For Ireland that really was the last throw of the dice for this current team, many more years of pain now beckon.

Cue the flow of patronising bull. "So much to be proud of", "they've given us so much", etc. etc. Fact is it all counts for nothing now, the first time they were really tested in this World Cup they folded like a house of cards. What a sad way for ROG and others to end it with Ireland. To be blunt that was an abysmal display.

Gave up following the Irish rugby team after the embarrassment in 2007. Seems they have decieved some again. Afraid they are not good enough no matter what any of the rugby heads on this thread say.

Yeah, but we have the best supporters, the "Ole, Ole" crew made us all so proud, best fans in the world, blah, blah, blah.
