One of my favourites was from a Leinster semi-final between Offaly & Kildare in Kilkenny I think, around 2002. Kildare won after extra-time but Offalys Ciaran McManus was named man of the match. He was pulled aside by RTE straight after the game for some post-match comments, and the first words out of his mouth were "I thought the referee rode us!". The interview was immediately terminated by RTE & they went back to the studio.
I don't know what they expected from him anyway, after just being knocked out of the championship after extra-time, the personal acknowledgement of a man of the match reward was scant reward for all the hard work put in
