LSHC Final: Dublin V Kilkenny

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

If a trophy is there to be won then I believe my team, club / county / province / country, should and will, burst through anyone and anything to go and win it and woe betide anyone who tries to stop us while we're doing it!!

Dose your club /county / province / country always win said trophies??

seany, yes, the dubs could feed off a big crowd, but one thing for sure, the cats won't be phased whether its a full house, half house or empty house. Is gonna be a great day. Will I hear "Come on ye boys in blue" from the Hill in full voice?

Form, motivation, hunger are with the dubs

Experience with Kilkenny

They both have excellent teams, Kilkenny stronger on paper

A very interesting one, O'Dwyer is a big loss and Dublin tend to give up goal chances

Kilkenny should have enough to win it, just

As regards the attendance for the hurling final if you look online at the moment the only tickets being offered are for the lower decks of the Hogan and Cusack Stands and Hill16 , so unless they pick up big time in the nexy week there will be nowhere near the record crowd being spoken about.

pudders, its hard to know really! it really does serve to be an excellent occasion. most lines coming out of here is "the lads deserve a massive crowd" and all that, and even though thats true it still wont put people on seats. i feel the GAA need to push this in the week ahead! offer plenty of promotional deals and the like and get the match promoted on radio stations etc...if the GAA cant do it then they should leave promoting of dublin championship games to the dublin county board who have shown their adeptness in the past. if the dubs brought 35,000 and the cats 15,000 it would be a good turn out. will the cats travel though pudders?

Would like to see Dubs win this, but it will be a huge ask. The league final win could come back to haunt them as Cats exact a major revenge on them Still not sure the Cats are quite as potent as 2008/09 model and Dubs have improved so maybe gap has closed a bit

Puddersthecat glad to hear theres a good crowd coming up, 2 years ago there was 30,000 so I hope there'll be closer to 50000 this time.
I got a bit over-excited after half time when Dublin got 3 points in a row and I roared "come on Dublin, beat them back over the Slaney".....a big Kilkenny man turned around and shouted "ye got the wrong river there pal"....
Joey Boland may play, so we have a good chance as long as we dont concede goals.
Up the Dubs.....Minor, U21 & Senior hurlers in Leinster finals 1st time ever!

I think Sunday is the day when the hurling world will realise how good this Dublin are.

Fair enough they've had a good League, culminating in the title and a great championship so far, but i think there will be a lot of doubt until they win a Leinster title.

I think it will happen on Sunday. Anthony Daly is proving that he a cute old manager and is working wonders with this group of hurlers. Also it just goes to show what the Dublin hurlers have been robbed of in recent years in Conal Keaneys return to the hurling jersey (surely a shoe-in for an All Star, even at this stage of the year).

Kilkenny though will be more than up for this one and with Shefflin and Walsh back it could be a titanic battle, but for me, the boys in blue will be celebrating long into Sunday night with the O'Keefe Cup.

joey boland has to play , his such a rock for us and i believe its a risk we must take , he should be put on shefflin who is equally as rusty and vulnerable to injury, lads im gonna be away for this any of you know of links where can watch the match , no irish pubs in the area unfortunately so it has to be on the net or nothing

Good post tribe. I think this match is well set up for Dublin. While most pundits are saying that the injuries may not only stop them winning but might leave them open to a hammering, that is not the way Dublin themselves regard it.

The panel is full of lads who are dying to be thrown into the fray and every time this year that someone has been asked to do a job they have done it. Peter Kelly on Canning encapsualtes that so I have no doubt but that even if Joey is not ready that whoever wears the 6 jersey and whoever else comes in will give it their all and will die in the effort to overcome the Cats.

I expect them to give it one almighty rattle on Sunday. They will be up against the Cats who will be as wound up for this as they were for the AI final last year. It could be day when Dublin silence the doubters.

you are right hurlingdub , dublin may not win but it wont be for the want of tryin and dublin supporters know this and thats why dub supporters can be hopeful , we have lots of talented players who can interchange netween positions which is why i think well be ok as regards the loss of hiney , treacy , brady and rod , it promises to be an incredible day on sunday , theres a real good faCTOR about dublin gaa at present and hopefully it will continue after sundays game regardless of the result , i hope the guys like keany , dotsy , mccrabbe , corcoran , mccaffery , boland , durkan drive the likes of kelly , gough , rushe , ryan , plunkett , mccormack on and lead from the front as its these players who will be needed most , the frontliners so to speak , 2009 wasnt close to being as big as this, the team was just begining to develop we are now close to being the finished and can compete with all teams , anyway i think well do it .......up the dubs

Yep, as Daly said after the Galway match, "Every game we play we are being told the next one is the 'real' challenge, we never seem to have played our 'real' challenge yet!!"

Dubs by 4 pulling up!

Dublin will not be beaten!!

And after we beat KK we will be told "Awh but yer next game will be the 'real' challenge for Dublin!!"

There seems to be an air of confidence and belief amongst the Dublin supporters. Maybe you are the real deal. Maybe we are over the hill. We'll find out soon enough.

there seems to be an air of despondency in KK with injuries and the form of the team.

Snuffy, surely Dublin will be always asked that until they will win an AI.

I don't think it is the sort of confidence that we are expecting to win pudders. It is more that this team has shown that it can stand up on the big days this year and supporters have huge faith in them giving it their all. Whether that is good enough on the day remains to be seen but I would expect a huge performance regardless of who lines out.

It is big day for yourselves as well. Some pundits are writing the Cats off and you do that at your peril! Dublin are going into the eye of a storm and they know it. Promises to be a massive game and hopefully it will get the crowd it deserves. I know myself of Kilkenny people who have been at few Leinster finals over the past 5/6 years but who will be there on Sunday. Let's hope it lives up to its billing, regardless of the result!
