961235 "Bob O'Keffee, yer coming home lad!!"

Bob was born in Mooncoin in Kilkenny.......

As for the game........

This hopefully will be a very different KK to that we saw in the league final. Whilst obviously disappointing, of that side, we were missing Henry, Richie, Tommy, and Mick Fennelly and JJ went off injured. Whatever way you want to read the league, those players are huge additions to us. And they will make a hell of a difference when back. I'll be disappointed if we lose but in fairness to the progress Dublin have made, it wouldn't be a shock to see the Dubs win

Well Proc, when you first came on the scene with your rabid pro Cork posts, I had you down as a wind up merchant.. You are back but you have suddenly turned into a Kilkenny man. You are obviously posting as a kilkenny man under another username but on this thread logged on under the previous pro Cork username. Ye guys are tiresome, the Administrator should root ye out and ban ye to try and protect the integrity of the forums.

Kilkenny will win at a canter-There is absolutely no comparison between league and championship. Kilkenny like my own Kerry take every game seriously but bottom line is that the league counts for nothing. Kilkenny will restore the natural order and win very comfortably. KK to score at least two goals and win by by 8-10 points.

Id say you could be right

Although Dublin beat Kilkenny in the league, it's now July and the cats have licked their wounds for 2 months. I think Kilkenny will win this buy about 4-5 points. I hope I am wrong and would love to see the Dubs do it but I cant see it happening. But I have been wrong before (once).

Well spotted corkcelt!

What is the point in someone pretending to be from somewhere else in order to engage in abuse?

There are plenty of good honest posters here from lots of counties.

As for the final, looks likely to beat the record for a Leinster fnal attendance. I would be surprised if there are less than 50,000.

Hopefully this game along with the munster final, can set the hurling championship alight.

Hoping for a cracker.should be an unreal day out.if we had a full team id give us a fifty fifty chance.now with probably 2 or 3 central players missin and treacy whos a quality player, them odds have lenghtened.kk wil be a completely different team for this game.if everything goes right, could the cats lose their third final to us.heres hoping

There are enough teams capable of beating Dublin....but nobody's gonna beat them by 8-10 points - with their mentality right now? no chance.

Kilkenny are very unpredictable at the moment. I know they beat Wexford handy but for one Wexford are not a top 6 team at the moment and I think we played really badly. So Kilkenny are still being gauge against previous performances and not current form if you ask me.
If they play the same way against Dublin as they played against us they will loose.
Saying that with a number of key players coming back and a win under their belt if they do turn up on the day I think they will win by 5 or 6.
Dublin defence against Galway wasn't brilliant and I could see them leaking a few goals. Galway could have had 4 or 5.

Think the Cats will have just a little too much experience and class for the dubs on the day. Although I do want Dublin to win!

I think the big issue for Kilkenny is the full back line. It was the problem in the all ireland final (plus the injuries) and the weakness in the match against Wexford as Wexford created enough goal chances to make more of a match of it but didn't take their chances. However, the imponderable is that Dublin haven't been creating goal chances so maybe KK's weakness won't be exposed.

The injuries to Dublin will hurt Dublin badly as they are key players in key positions. Brady is a huge huge huge loss. A shame really for the lad.

Whilst KK have a good few coming back. Richie Power is a huge addition to the league final team. Henry is probably not as much an addition based on his Wexford performance but the man is a legend. Mick Fennelly is another huge lad returning.

My fear is that this reminds me of 1980. We had enough warnings about Offaly up until that point but never thought they'd actually do it. Dublin are in the same position. There is no pressure on Dublin as if they lose, no one will be surprised but if KK lose, everyone will be writing our post mortem and proclaiming us dead.

It is great though to be talking about a Leinster hurling final with Dublin involved. Historic really. I'll be sitting beside my nephew who is on teh dublin hurling development panel. He'll be in the blue, I'll be in the stripes. Lets hope KK win but more importantly KK don't act the maggots like the league final.

For those of you interested Proc has posted on another thread now supporting Tipperary and writing in the style of thurlesblues. Perhaps he is thurlesblues perhaps not but why can't these fools just go away and leave genuine GAA people debate and discuss the games we love in a proper manner.

So Kilkenny are still being gauge against previous performances and not current form if you ask me.

What about their proformances over the last 5/6 years would that not be a better guage of where they are, people are judging them on the league final and the league and they forget that they got to a league final with out the core of their team.... seriously write off kilkenny at your peril. Granted wexford were poor but kilkenny won it at a canter and looked like they a few more gears to go, if you have to read into kilkenny hurling at the moment you notice that they peak in september and I'll expect them to knotch it up another gear against dublin. League and championship hurling are a completely different animal.

Pudders eveR the diplomate you did the same in the build up to the wexford match, were most of us really know you typing away on the keyboard all nicey nicey when really whats going throught your head is REVENGE!!!

OK HAG,

I confess. I hope we hammer them! I hope we teach them a right good lesson. But then the nephew would be upset and I don't really want that. I would like a clean game of hurling. And I would like for KK to lay down a marker for everybody else. But everyone I speak to who has been going to the training sessions in all honesty don't think we are winning anything this year. Every team has its cycles. This one is on the downward run but they owe us nothing.

But I do fear for Dublin if the KK forwards getting going and decide a marker needs to be put down. Albeit September is the main aim.

brady is a huge loss , irreplaceable imo , and having in the season of his life , im i right in saying dublin are the only liam mccarthy cup team to suffer a cruciate injury ? brady and hiney out now , hopefully brady can go under the knife as soon as possible , amazing how he tried to play on considering how excruciating the injury is supposed to be , when i witnessed the likes of davoren , griffin , hiney etc get it they were all in some distress on the ground and had to be stretchered off , he jogged off , tough boy indeed ! treacys out , hopefully joey will be back , odwyer out to , up against it big time but i think we can do it.
