'Great to see the games in Clones - was in Omagh yesterday - what a dump of a place and it takes hours and hours to get out of it.'

It makes no difference to you where the semi's are played, concentrate on the qualifiers like a good chap

If Omagh is a dump I don't know what you can describe Clones as. The town that time forgot and the GAA should too. What exactly was not to your liking in Omagh? Hours to get out of? Within 45 minutes the place was deserted. If you had any gumption and weren't so lazy you would have parked at the bus depot and walked out. You wouldn't have had much bother getting out then. Maybe the problem getting home was rounding up the posse of drunken mates you had with ye.

Granted Omagh not the most accessible ground in the country, but no bigger warm hearty welcome than those from the people of Omagh , I to am happy with Clones being chosen for the semi finals at least you can be sure your car is safe once you leave it unlike a certain stadium I shall not name , clones is what Ulster football is all about an beautiful gem of a place set in the Monaghan country side why I can almost smell the greasy burger vans from here.

Omagh isn't the most accessible though to be fair, it doesn't make sense to play it their when you have a better pitch, stadium and generally a nicer area a few miles down the road in Pomeroy. But it's all politics

Agree totally with you fortyfive - fantastic people but it is just not a ground for big games. At least in Clones the crowd can get away with so many roads out of the pitch. Clones is the home of Ulster football and it is fantastic that both semi finals are there along with the final.

Part of the Charm of Clones is the arduous but wonderful trek from the (ahem) carparks to the pitch. I'll miss it when we move to casement but I am still looking forward to the new stadium. Until then my County have a piece of work to get us to Clones we'll know more Sunday evening.
