A Plan for the Development of Kilkenny Football

Why can people not look at his suggestions seriously and debate them? It's an excellent idea he has came up with, a bit of success in the Ladies ranks will breed more success, within a decade they could be in Division 1 or 2 of the Ladies football league. In time they could could then move back to playing with their own gender. Outside the box thinking like this is required if we want Kilkenny to be a force in the one true sport of the GAA

we could just set a forest fire and burn all the ash out of kilkenny ,start kicking footballs across the bridge in new ross to them then

perhaps the involvement of the recent beatified john paul II could help kilkenny. any kilkenny improvement however slight could well fast track his holiness to the realms of sainthood.

I heard before that a theory about the historical weakness of hurling in some counties was due to a lack of ash for hurls and/ or cork for sliothars in those areas.

Now it probably is complete BS, but it could be a factor in why football is so dominant is most places north of Offaly.

Any historical botanists here to prove me right/ wrong ?

That's correct many counties were overrun with sliotars while many had an infestation of hurls so after years of falling over on the sliotars and bateing other with the hurls these counties naturally turned to football.

Read it again

The notion that people would produce hurls with no sliotars and visa vers is absurd

It take it satire is not part of your curriculum this year

pudders if we wanred to check the records we could easily go to many a site to do so whats your point? your county is taking the piss end of. As i said earlier if every county decided to put all their resources into one code the gaa record books could look a lot different the fact is many small counties put out two competitive codes and kid in kk dont get a chance to play football because the powers that be have decided that oppertunty will not be made available to them in their communities schools or otherwise .

Pudders / Mes Amis:

Not sure what your point is and what relationship Donegal football has to the present state of Kilkenny football.

I'm still waiting any alternative proposals to the one proposed for the development of Kilkenny football. Your inability to provide one only makes the proposal I offered all the more necessary.

Mes Amis - you haven't come back to me on the population issue and Dublin's 408 All Irelands....???

thanking yourself bobo is very gracious, but im not so convinced that you will succeed if you call people who are not of your opinion ignorant. if there ever is a hurling team in cavan it will be because people want to play not because angry moaners throw insults.

solidarity? i think that its interesting that someone went to the trouble to outline all kks achievements to prove a point. I suspect that you are irked by kk hurling prowess and are using this forum to deplore them, you cant get your head around the fact that kk are no 1.

Listing Kilkennys achievements doesn't prove anything. It doesnt alter the present state of Kilkenny football nor does it offer any solution. At least playing in D4 of the ladies league would be a step in the right direction...
