I think they were rewarded by not playing a quarter final!

How hard would it be to put the Kildare Wicklow game on before the football championship match in Portlaois?

First time ever in the Christy Ring theres no neutral venus for Semi whats the story there? not that its gonna bother much!! but like a bit of continuity wouldnt go astray.

Rambo first things first - we have 2 dual players so it would be very hard for them to be expected to play one game straight after the other, as it is they are being pressured in to playing 2 days in a row (Leighton Glynn and Stephen Kelly)

I also think it is an injustice to Kerry that they have not been given a home semi-final like we in Wicklow have. A Wicklow player was able to tell me before the Derry match that if they won that they would have a home semi-final.

Last year the semi's were neutral venue. It was mentioned after them then it'd revert to a draw for home tie from this year on. Kerry are unlucky I guess if we have been drawn away. I think it reflects a lot wrong with the GAA, winners are rarely rewarded in these second chance saloon formats. Winners should at least be granted home tie.

Crazy that Kerry after going undefeated have to play their semi final away in Down. Down lost to Derry, Kerry won all their games so least they deserve is a home semi.

Playing Down away or at home is a massive difference, they beat good sides at home, but once they are away are a soft touch. Its totally unfair on Kerry, and they should make sure this is reversed.

Wicklow are at home in other sf and rightly so, but this just seems as if it is luck of the draw.

It's unfair but it's been known since last year something like this would happen. It's a crazy idea but it's down to the people in county boards to look to get it sorted. I'm fairly sure they year before last the two unbeaten teams did get home advantage. Kerry were convinced they had secured home tie last season having gone unbeaten to the semi's. They were then informed they rules were incorrectly enforced the year before. After the semi's then it was announced as I've said that home tie would be decided by a draw.

I remember we had gone thru the group thingy unbeaten so assumed that's why we had home advantage v your Kerry in 2009 sf.
Didn't do us much good and it was a draw that day. Never forget Dooley flicked a Brick free to the net in injury time, to level it.... Felt sick.
Thankfully we turned it on in 2nd half of replay in Tralee to win by 11 pts.

So in saying all that maybe Kerry are better away :)

Play-offs give a number of options, they could go with:
2nd Div 2 v 7th Div 1 (2nd Div 2 with home tie)
6th Div 1 v 3rd Div 2 (6th Div 1 with home tie)

It'd have more teams in the hunt and even if unsuccessful, at least the 2 division 2 teams will have gotten a very competitive game.

Has the draw for the semi finals changed. I know that Kerry were kicking up - and so they should. On the Hoganstand website the draw says Kerry vs. Kildare - Wicklow vs. Down. Is this true?

GAA website says Wicklow vs Kildare. D'ont think Kerry can play Kildare again as they have already played.

Down play Kerry in Newry. Also South Down play their semi there in the curtain-raiser.

So confusing - the GAA need to set out the laws of the competition before it starts. I am happy we are at home, but if i where Kerry i would be rippen.

So messed up, typical GAA not caring for the lower competitions.

Well done to the Kerry hurlers for beating Down to get to the final. Tense finish with Down closing the gap after Kerry went down to 13 men. Wicklow up next in CRC final. They've followed in our footsteps from last year, winning Division 3A and then getting to a CRC final. The only difference is that we had a 100% record from our Division 3A campaign. It'll be a tough final.

As a adopted kerryman I congratulate Kerry on reaching the Christy Ring Final.
It was a mighty result for Kerry to have to go up to Down and win(Down beat Laois Carlow and were ahead of Limerick after 60 mins during league)
Hope you win and see ye in Munster championship next year although was good for Wicklow to be there in final after coming out Div 3A.Shows up great work done by John Meyler and imagine boost Kerry hurling would get if in Munster and fact either any 5 Munster counties be play in Tralee/Kilarney.I be rooting for ye expect if ye play Clare!
Again best luck in final.

With the Christy Ring final at the beginning of June and the Mccarthy qualifiers at the end of June, why not allow the Christy Ring winner join the qualifiers?
