Setanta used to mandate a $20 cover charge for GAA matches, Premium Sports (who are run by the people who used to run Setanta US) now mandate that bars charge a $20 cover. The bars aren't picked by Setanta/Premium, any bar can show GAA matches as long as they're willing to fork over the $15,000 or so that it costs for the subscription. Even with the $20 cover lots of places don't make their subscription cost back and need to sell breakfast/drinks to break even. FloggingSully (USA) - Posts: 11 - 15/04/2011 15:41:50 912286 Link 0 |
Yew_tree; Boston in particular seemed to me to be full to the brim with Galwegians, Mayoians and Roscommonites. With a fair does of Tir Conaillers thrown in to boot. I lived in Southie and there were days walking down the street you wouldn't hear a single American accent. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3143 - 15/04/2011 15:42:10 912287 Link 0 |
