Just after been told there is a festival held every year in the back yard of the Village Pump, 2 days of music with various bands playing, think its one of the long weekends, I will not miss it this year.

Rathangan in Co Kildare is a great spot for a session, every day there is people in the pubs, small town with 7 pubs and music provided in each of them, Bridge Bar and Corner bar are great pubs for the Horse racing and The Village pump and The Burrow are the Music pubs.

Monasteravin in Kildare is much the same as the above, plent of craic in Mooneys, Carmody and Gahans.

Highly recommend these towns for Stag nights.

Ballykellyno11 I admire your loyalty to your own county, but seriously Monasteravin or Rathangan as stags destination, you obviously have never been outside your own county or country for that matter, as there is more life in the local cemetery than the two aforementioned towns.

Letterkenny is a good spot. Ya get all the local beauties plus gaggles of dolls in from Derry looking for real men.

I know what you mean, but for someone from say Galway, Kilkenny and even Dublin it would be an option to sample the rural type town and in my opinion the 2 towns I mentioned are great for music and the women are top class too, my own football club is close to both towns and I frequent quite a bit at weekends so I know the score.

Carrick on shannon is the place to go for sure then, you will always find hens and stags there, nite club is massive and the pubs there are great craic.

ruanua,

I do enjoy 'cruising' but there is no need to totally turn this into a thread on the benefits of going to Carrick-on -Shannon!!!!!!!

Galway and Waterford cities and Carlow town are all good spots, same goes for Carrick on Shannon and Letterkenny. If your looking for something a bit different then how about renting a few boats on the Shannon?

To be fair though it'd nearly be just as cheap to go away to Liverpool or Newcastle if there's cheap flights going, both cities have some great nightlife and a good variety of pubs and clubs.

To be fair it wouln't be a bad idea - Remember being on that "pub boat" thingie one night five of us and about 8 hen parties.
Though I would make the point that Hen parties are way over-rated - Big group means high chance of a "sensible one"

the same can be said for a group of lads, no chance of a girl then approaching a guy in a pack.

Been at quite a few stags over the last couple of years. Most memorable have been Galway and Derry. Galway is always a dead cert, great craic and always booming. Derry some spot too - and the bonus being that it's a lot cheaper than in the south. Great clubs and pubs and unreal weeeman.

Aye there is something to be said about the Derry weemin, League of our own if I must say so myself. When I get married I want to go to Kerry for my hen night hahah or maybe Westport.

Problem with Nordieland is that it closes down too early and closing time means 'closing time'!!!! No such thing as 'a late one' or finishing up at your ease!!

You have to go out way too early to make it worth it, sure by the time your getting a goo on ya its time to go home when yer out in nordieland!!!!.....not worth it!!
