Very few immigrants integrate into the society they live. For instance most of the young Irish emigrating today will not suddenly become a RedSox fan upon stepping foot on US soil. They most likely will find their nearest Irish bar and nearest GAA Club and go about contributing to American society but fiercely proud of their homeland.

Few immigrants integrate, but all their children do - it is their children who will grow up in Ireland, their children who will proudly call themselves Polish- Irish, Iraqi - Irish etc

The only problem I have with immigration is that it allows opportune politicians to sweep their own poor record in government under the carpet by playing on prejudices.
