ROG is and has been one of the top operators in the game and to say that JS isn't good enough is not only nonsense, but it's also taking away from O'Gara's recent form. The man is on fire and Sexton through no fault of his own, has found himself back on the bench, despite having a very solid season. O'Gara took lots of criticism when he was 25-26 so let's see how Sexton reacts. The by-product of all this is that ROG by rolling back the years, is forcing JS to address and improve his game. Win Win!!

this nonsense about sexton being a young fella it total trip- what age is he? if he was any good he woul have 50 caps by now, but the fact remain he is very poor and he is only there as ther is noone else. any other viable option would be taken ahead of him. ill put it like this a couple of years ago when contepomi was with leinster and sexton was making the bench i said if either contepomi or paul warrick were irish qualified we would not even know who sexton is. the same can now also be said for runnar pinear of ulster- lets face it folks he is only there because he is there

Ballboy you are talking rubbish as usual. Granted he is not as good as Rog but he ain't as bad as you say. Just wondering what business are you in? What line of work and where in Mayo? I am a business man but on a much smaller scale then you, so where abouts are you based?

Kind of see where Ballboy is coming from with Sexton, but don't totally agree.

Sexton is about what 24/25, considering ROG is still going strong at 34 if Sexton looks after himself he does still have a long career ahead.

Worryingly for Ireland is where is the back up for Sexton going to come from??? There is no-one else out there (unless Connacht can turn Niall O'Connor into a consistent goal kicker).

I do like Sexton, he has done well a couple of times in an Ireland jersey, but does seem to turn it on a lot better for Leinster. Whether that is because they play to Jonny's strengths i don't know, but the lad is a good player and i wouldn't write him off.

your not much of a business man jonny and then you would know not to insult people and then ask them questions. sexton is useless you have your opinion i have mine- but i also have manners- its a key requirement in business

Both Sexton and O'Gara are great players we are lucky to have. No amount of begrudging bullscutter will change that.

Tribeinbrum the options we have good or bad are Keatley, Humphreys, O'Connor, Steenson of Exeter is probably the form kicker in the english premiership. Madigan at Leinster looks a good prospect too.

Out of those players Breff there isn't really anyone that stands out though. I mean i've been waiting for Keatley to really come into his own at Connacht, and fair play he might improve at Munster, but this is a lad that earlier this season and in the middle of last season had lost his place in the Connacht team. I'm hoping O'Connor comes good but is he ever likely to be international out half class? Same with Humphries. The lad Steenson is doing well at Exeter but i'm sure i read somewhere he would consider playing for England if they came in for him so not sure what's happened with that lad. Madigan like you said could be one for the future. We could really do with finding a couple of decent young outhalves and scrum halfs through the colleges and working like mad with them so we do have decent players coming through.

none of them mentioned by breff are anyways near the international standard and none of them are that young either. its prob due to the conservative nature of irish rugby that players are not developed earlier- by 23/4 players should be established member of a squad and even considered senior members of a squad. In NZ they can play a player almost straight out of school, in ireland we seem to have this thing about 'development' which in my opinion is just an excuse for fear in throwing some young lad in. the irish problem is we pick the international for the future based on limited resources i.e. jonny sexton has to be made into a good outhalf. in the skills department at his age jonny has one very good move in that looping line break buts its very predicatable at this stage. penalty kicking should not even come into it at all that is the most fundamental basic of being an out half. you must be assessed on game play- sextons game management is poor, his passing is decent, his kicking from hand is decent from free kicks/ penalties his kick from hand in open play is poor and his knowledge of when to do it is very poor. his defence is good but his temperament is poor as he doesnt seem to know when he should take over and grab a game by the neck. ill put it like this if he was english he would just be an average nobody slugging it away in the premiership. ive no gripe against the lad in fact i think he is a distant relation of my wife but in rugby terms i honestly think he is not up to scratch

Come on Ballbag I'm just wondering what fantasy job makes up your fantasy lifestyle? The point of forums is to guve honest opinions, therefore your opinions don't count. I can insult you because you are not telling the truth in anything you post therefore I am actually insulting a fantasy poster, which you are.

Class?? Your comments on a thread about a deceased Garda did not have much class. Why are you on here when all you do is make up rubbish about where you go and what you do? It is a sad man who has to lead a fantasy existence on an internet forum to give his life meaning.
