Hipster and I have also stated this. I do honestly and genuinely wish for the day when i can go to a polling booth and make a choice as to which All Island party I will vote for.

I think both Fianna Fail and Fine Gael, and maybe Labour as well, they've all some sort of organisation in the North, but they don't run candidates. Fianna Fail is definitely registered as a party, and they've a lot of Northern members. Also, the Greens are a 32 county party.

Seamus you can organise all you want but you will not represent people without candidates. Fianna Fail have only recently begun to organise and for my part I think they are some 80 years too late to start to develop a real all Ireland policy or philosophy. I am not aware of any FG organisation other than some seranading to the SDLP when elections are near. Labour have never actively campaigned or put money into electioneering in the 6 counties. The only money the 3 main parties ever invested in party politics in the 6 counties was to establish the SDLP and that was designed to take Sinn Fein out of the equation which has apparently failed. So Seamus in my position I am a Sinn Fein supporter because I dont have any option.

Ok...has to be 32 county then. But the only way that's going to happen is whenever the SDLP decide to merge with one of the southern parties. FF looked a likely partner around 2006, but it didn't happen. They've got close ties to all 3 main parties. I think the SDLP should make their minds up and merge with one of them, hopefully Fine Gael.

In truth seamus if The SDLP dont merge with some one and get some talent there soon there wont be an SDLP. They seem to have an uncanny knack of turning away their best prospects. Margaret Ritchie I feel is Sinn Feins best current asset.
