sorry to disappoint you Carlow but darragh could dish it out too so sadly we wont be seeing him donning the carlow jersey, not up to scratch!

carlowman i agree with what you are saying to an extent..i know there has been times that Galvin has stepped out of line but what im trying to say that at one stage or another every county or club has had a player or players similair to Galvin. I feel that when Galvin steps out of line tho the media and pundits make too much of a big deal out of it..im not saying he is a hero im trying to say that if he was from Dublin he would be a Dublin hero,if he was from Cork he would be a Cork hero and so on..do you understand what i mean? I also think if Galvin was from Carlow or Fermanagh for that matter and he was involved in the same incidents there wouldnt be a word about it..also carrlowman do you think he deserved player of the year in 09??

Carlowman considering the carlows teams discipline in the past year your not in any position to turn down galvin in your team. Only difference he is more high profile..

836555 LE20 from fermanagh.. in response to your question whether I would pick him on a Carlow first 15. My reply is no, I would not. As far as I am concerned a player like Paul Galvin can be an unsettling influence on the rest of the team.

If he shows up gagging for a game next spring send him over the river, Graigue might just give him a run.

835999 regarding the incident in the league against cadogan galvin was simply wrestled to the ground,if the cccc had bothered to look at the replay they would have seen he had no part in it. In the "fish hook" incident he was clearly provoked and cadogan tried to bite him before he did anything. Going back to the paddy russel notebook incident, kerry players were being harassed all day including declan o sullivan who got a bloody nose, the referee ignored all this and then incredibly chose to send off a kerry player. Going back to 2006 and the sending off against armagh, the armagh maor uisce was sent on to provoke galvin and also physically assaulted him, galvin merely defends himself and is sent off.
As everyone can see there are clear explanations for all these incidents. Paul galvin's bad boy reputation is purely a myth. People dont want to look at the facts however, they swallow the rubbish the media feeds them and jump to their own conclusions.

As the saying goes: "It takes all sorts to make a world".

I've always been a fan of Paul Galvins and got to meet him a few times and he's a nice fella.
I thought he got a raw deal in 2008. He shouldn't have hit the book out of the refs hand but there was too much of a fuss made out of it.
Having said that sticking his fingers in Cadogans mouth was very bad. It may have been "heat of the moment" but there's no place in the GAA for that.

kefan not sure how he got a raw deal he got 3 months for a cat 5 offence where it should have been at least 6 months so hegot off very light on appeal and i thought the reduced ban was a disgrace .
