Whoever beats Anderson will win it !! If he throws like he did yesterday then it will take a great effort to beat him !!

lewis could be a decent bet at 8/1, however, most likely he will have to get past taylor. i dont tink anderson will win it, when he comes under pressure he is vulnerable as seen against priestley, could he match a 110average against taylor or even lewis

Happy new year everybody, hope the heads aren't too groggy :-)

So heres our quarter-finals:

Taylor v Webster
Lewis v Van Der Voort
Newton v Jenkins
Anderson v Van Barneveld

So I got 6 out of 8 right, not too bad but in all fairness I did go for the safe options everytime. Anyway gloating aside that looks like a very impressive line up and fairplay to Wes Newton for getting that far becasue I certainly wouldn't have fancied him on his form but I reckon this could be the end of his run because Jenkins is very consistant and has the experience to get past Newton. Lewis should also have enough to get past Vinny but again well done to Van Der Voort for seeing off Whitlock who looked surprisingly dodgy on his doubles the other night, also I'm loving Van Der Voort's new music :-)

Then for the evening session, can't wait for it, should be class. A lot of people are ruling out Barney because of Anderson's excellent form so far but I reckon it could be a lot closer than expected, Barney done a 97 average the other night while playing well below par and was off song on his doubles aswell. If he can get his game together Barney could easily do a 100+ average and rattle Anderson who's mental state is just as poor as Barney's when things go wrong in my opinion. Still on form the smart money stays on Anderson.

Then finally 'The Power' vs 'Webby', another potential classic in the making. For me The Power is still only at about 75% and that makes Webster a very dangerous opponent, he's playing with a lot more confidence than last year and at the risk of jinxing things I certainly don't think its gonna be the 6-0 mauling it was twelve months ago (and I can't possibly be wrong on that because its best of 9 not 11). Still though, Taylor playing well below his best has lost only 1 set and only 14 legs which is less than any of the players left so far, so I reckon that this will be another steadily better preformance from The Power and he should just about see off Webster.

Bdo is a far worse standard and hopefully a few of the better players will move to the PDC after the World championship. On the PDC side i hope Anderson goes all the way as he is the best player to watch and is not as arrogant as that clown Lewis.

Anderson is as good as i've seen outside of taylor for a long time. Himself against lewis would make a great final.

Well it would seem the cocky one was wrong when he said the other players needed to "practice, practice and practice some more and it still won't be enough to beat him" well done to Webster he outclassed Taylor looking forward to the SFs now I think apart from Jenkins any of the other 3 could win it I can't call it

Wow, what a quarter final line up and brilliant matches to boot! Mouth watering Semi Finals to look forward to, here's my view on things -

Webster Vs Lewis - Will Webster be able to put up a second big performance in a row and draw from his Lakeside winning experiences? I feel he will but Lewis will gove him a good fight for it as he's been one of the best 2 performers in the whole tournament. Lewis probably deserves to be in the final with the performances he has put in so far but i feel that the metal Webster showed against Taylor is the hall mark of a champion. More money has went on Webster since the tourament started than any other player, i think Webster will prevail 6-2

Jenkins Vs Anderson - Anderson is and should be the poker hot favourite for the whole tournament as he has put in some blistering displays and deservedly hammered Barney last night! Jenkins is a war horse and my personal favourite player in the PDC due to his personality and general likeability. He won't be beaten easilty and has the mental strength to keep up with whatever Anderson throws at him. Anderson deserves to be in the final and i think he will be in it, but by a struggle at 6-5!

Nerves will play a big part in both matches Jenkins if settles first could nick the first 2 sets which I believe he must do to prevent Anderson getting up ahead of steam just like the Flying Scots Man, Webster v Adrian Lewis will be interesting Webster looks very calm while Lewis seems to be a man in torment and as long as the crowed don't start baiting him he probably nick it bye 1 set.

Credit where credit's due fortyfive, good call on the Webster Taylor match. Think it'll be a Lewis Anderson final with Anderson the victor, he has been getting better as the tournament's progressed.

Watching darts is like being stuck in a room with a Rangers crowd with all those big fat bellies, tattoos, missing teeth, fake gold jewellery......and that's only the women.
