Padraig Joyce in 2001, by a long way. Hurling, none stand out like Joyce but Tommy Walsh has given some absolute exhibitions. Lar Corbett this year was great as well.

Frank Stockwell Galway in 1956... 2-5 from play in a 60 min final..Best ever!!

I believe it was Stockwell that was held scoreless from Play in the semi-final against Tyrone! Or was it Purcell?

Tyrone the only team to stop the Terrible twins (Jim Devlin of Coalisland And Pat Donaghy of Moy I Think Marked them)

michael donnellan in 1998 gave the greatest display i have ever seen in any game, every ball he got that day turned to gold, the 2 runs he made in the first 10 minutes were never seen before and will never be seen again,i would safely say that killdare would have won that all ireland easy by 6 or 7 points only for donnellan,he won that one on his own,THE GREATEST FOOTBALLER OF ALL TIME!!!

Mick Foster's half time performance in the 81 final. Savage performance on the accordian. Though Tony Allen pushed him for a close second.

1997 Maurice Fitz nuff said single handedly dragged Kerry to Sam that year, still very underated.
1991 Bernard Flynn 0-9 points from play and end up on the losing side, class act, great final.
1995 Peter Canavan 12 points although a lot from frees

A good question! In hurling Frank Cummins gave outstanding displays in the 82 and 83 finals. Can't agree with Nickey English against Antrim however, a cricket score was on the cards that day. Brian Whelehan was magic against Kilkenny the day he had the flu and scored scores to win the game against Kilkenny so for me he has given the outstanding display.

Henry Downey in Derry's All Ireland stands out for me.

829095 Have to go with Peter Canavan in 95 or Sean Cavanagh in 08 probably Canavan at a push.

You're spot on about PC I was there that day and he was the only forward that Tyrone had... a major reason why they lost.

It was a tired effort touching the ball on the ground... he was on his own that day. You dont win All Irelands with one forward... A problem that Dublin will have to quickly address.
