TV3's acquisition of more GAA tv rights..

Bad and all that their long drawn out coverage is and the woeful commentary and cameramen, the thing I'm most concerned about is their broadcasting of the Minor finals.
Does this spell the end of commentary as Gaeilge for the minor games?

Goggins is a pundit on TG4... and a well respected one at that.

Yes that's correct but dont tell Dell... he's on his usual anti-Dublin anything... you cant blame him though... A tyrone man living in Meath! What a combination... :)

Peter Canavan is good alright but the rest of the pundits on TV3 are very poor. There is something about their overall coverage that just isn't as near as good as RTE.

I sincerely hope so, nothing ruins a good minor game like listening to some aul lad roaring things like 'oh go-hauling' or 'aon bwuinchega' or 'kitoge' etc etc. Just show the damn things in english so ordinary people can understand the lingo.

Hteam the "aul lad" you are referring to is Michael O Se. He deserves your respect as he played for Kerry in three All-Ireland finals. He played on the winning side twice. I'm delighted to inform you that one of those victories was against your own Meath. A bit more respect for an All-Ireland winner.

at least now that the minor final will be played in english it might give the northern teams a bit of a chance. it was always unfair asking them to play against the likes of kerry when the games were in Irish. On the same note, fair play to the recent aussie rules team who came over here and mastered not only the round ball but also the irish language (the games were played on TG4).

Let's not turn this into a 'bashing the Irish language' forum.there are still people out there who speak the language&take pride in it.
Back to the matter at hand,TV3's punditry can be painful to watch at times, but at the end of the day, commentary or no commentary,if the games are good like the Kerry-Cork and Galway-Sligo games last year, does the commentary & punditry really matter? ~PHS
