16/1 for a team who are already in the semi-finals is surely worth a fiver or a tenner alright fonejacker.

I wouldn't rate Thurles Sars as high as some people-as a tipp man i'd love to see them go all the way-but i don't believe they will win munster, nevermind an all-ire. They let in almost 2 goals for every 1 they score-a strong forward line at times-but defence wise-i see nothing special-i think De La Salle (Waterford) could exploit that-i would say De La Salle or O'Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny)-i see it still being wide open to be honest-an underdog could well sneak right in there too-good luck sars though-i really hope ye can do it-Daithi-Toomevara, Co.Tipp.

very wide open still. The Leinster final should be interesting a lot of people fancy Oulart to win it out but to be fair they haven't really been tested yet. O'Loughlins would be favourites for that in my opinion very impressed with how they pulled away against Ballyboden who are no mugs. Oulart have only really beaten Raharney by 4 points and KK teams always seem to have this inferiority complex against wex teams in recent years.
In Munster youd have to say that Thurles sars should be favourites with a host of intercounty names but Ive been watching DLS all the year and they will be savage hard for anyone to beat. very battle hardened and have a very professional setup at the moment.
Dont think the Galway champs will be as good as Portumna and whoever comes out of Munster or Leinster will fancy their chances. Wouldnt count Loughiel out either weve seen in the past that the Ulster champs can be very dogged and are never a pushover in the Club ch'ships.

After seeing the weather yesterday morning, I put 50 euro on Clarinbridge to win the AI at 12-1. As I said here before, I think they will have a much better chance of winning it out than Loughrea had. That being said, Loughrea have recieved a lot of negative press over the last few years which was totally unjustifiable. Their never say die attitude should be an example to all associated with Galway hurling. On a positive note for Galway hurling, there were three young players on display yesterday (2 Loughrea, 1 Clarinbridge) that will greatly strengths the Galway panel for next year. Finally, it was great to see the county final back in it's proper home yesterday.

Deisebhoy, I would have said that KK teams had a superiority complex over Wexford ones. Not an inferiority!

agree with everything you said, except that bit about its proper home! I think it is patently unfair to put the county final in the middle of traditional galway hurling country. All of the new clubs (who are often extremely competitive) west and north of the corrib etc have as much right to the competition, and as such it should be in salthill, in the centre of the county, in the part of the county with 1 out of every 3 people living there.

Agree with you about the bridge, and think that they might do it, although they need to improve a couple of key areas and have both Kerin's firing on all cylinders.

statman.dave:

Have to agree with you the have the potential but havn't been impressive as of yet..... only for young McCormack comming on it could have been a different result against killmallock, Padraic maher wa about the only player that played near to what they can... they got a couple of lucky goals.... Lar one came about a mishit point attempt by denis maher and killmallock had a shocking amount of wides.... Massive improvement is needed but i think they could do well it the championship it's wide open this year.

Also hard luck ballyboden.

Said here in this forum weeks ago that it would be a smart team that would beat De La Salle, and so far no one has come up to the mark, what concerns me is that Salle have performed way below their best or any where near the way they played in our County Champonship.
Thurles Sarsfields are a poor club team and they tried to bully our boys but got little change for their antics they were lucky to finish with 15 players because at least 3 of them should have been send for a early shower after dangerous head tackles in the first half.
If De La Salle bring their real form to the pitch then i will give them a big chance, but from here on in, it will be required as the competition will be much stiffer.
Hard at this stage to eliminate any of the those left.
