did you predict the 2009 result too...
Mystic blue i went to college in thurles so i do know the ins and out of it.... did thurles sars still have 4 adult teams in this time frame surely that enough to pick from... players left fennelly in the 40's for thurles sars so it's ok if players go the other way right....
so it took 21 years to replace the players you claim left in 1974??? how many players left?? have you any evidence of this bar your own hearsay.
Also did you think sars are the only club in ireland that effected by players transferring clubs? HAG_AND_CHEESE , 03/11/2010 at 16:01
Hags I wasnt on this forum till 2010 so I couldnt publicly comment on the 2009 final but let me say that I predicted that Tipp would win that All Ireland too and they would have had only for they were robbed I had no control over that nor did the players as yet again Tipp were the better team on the day.
And no hags Thurles Sars did not have 4 teams to pick from as Kickhams and Fennellys woyuldnt play with Sars!! Wwho is the 4th team by the way, surely you are not counting Rahealty ! Oh my God!!!!!!!

Thurlesblue it's not a split when the clubs already existed..... players moved from fennelly's in the 40's too you know .... also between 1974 and 2005 is 21 years could they not replace these players over time!!! I do know the ins and out's of it as i know players who in recent years who were playing for other clubs in thurles (I went to college there) which sars approached them to join as they do with a few players (where liam cahill from). So it's alright for sars to look for players but not alright for other thurles teams. I've back up my point but you seem to back up you points with your own hearsay
Also sars have 4 adult hurling teams including a senior and intermediate why should they be winning all round they were they have that pick of players. HAG_AND_CHEESE , 03/11/2010 at 15:43
being in college in Thurles and being from Thurles are 2 different things Hags I went to college in ucd but Im not from Dublin!
You still havent answered my question! how many have Thurles won since 1974? its not that hard for you is it?

another few questions for you hags. the club you are from have they ever won a senior club county title? if so how many? would Thurles Sarsfields have won more titles since 1974 even though they went to sleep for awhile, than your club has won in the 126 year history of the G.A.A.??

And no hags Thurles Sars did not have 4 teams to pick from as Kickhams and Fennellys woyuldnt play with Sars!!
Thurles Sarsfields Senior, Thurles Sarsfields intermediate, Thurles Sarsfields junior A, Thurles Sarsfields Junior B.
Is that or is it not 4 adult teams!!!!
You still havent answered my question! how many have Thurles won since 1974? its not that hard for you is it?
Go back over the thread I'm the one who brought up the point about lack of wins since 1974 I'm not going to repeat myself.
I went to college in ucd but Im not from Dublin!
Is that right I thought you lived in the U.S after your minor "success"!! Think there a small bit of a difference in size between dublin and thurles lack..... did you know people and see matches of all the clubs in dublin!!
would Thurles Sarsfields have won more titles since 1974 even though they went to sleep for awhile, than your club has won in the 126 year history of the G.A.A.??
My club is an intermediate club and I don't claim they are kingpins of ireland like you do even thought they have never won a munster or all-ireland. Granted their a great club with a great tradition but their not the world beaters you make them out to be..... granted i think they'll win it this year and I'll be supporting them along the way.

As far as i know sars are the only club in tipp with 4 adult most have 3 (toome for example) the majority have 2 and some have 1.
bit of a quiz for you seen as Sars are the king pins of tipp what have 8 other tipp clubs done that sarsfields have failed to do..... added to that what have 3 tipp clubs along with the latter also done which sars have failed to do.
Answear: 8 Tipperary clubs have won munster club championships (Sars have 0) 3 Tipperary clubs have won all-ireland club championships.
So until ye start winning more that other tipp clubs have won pipe down a bit!!

Well it an achievement that a family member of mine has an all-ireland SENIOR hurling medal comming from such a lesser species of club then.... and before you say you have a senior medal with tipp again you don't.
You have a NEW SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP MEDAL with the tippeary club in new york.

So you are disagreeing that your NEW YORK SENIOR CLUB TITLE is a ALL IRELAND TITLE then??
You must be the only man in the country that would prefer a county title over an all-ireland then.
extract from sarsfields website It is difficult to pinpoint why the fortunes of the club slumped over the next number of years, maybe it was inevitable that the unprecedented success could not continue, maybe social changes were felt that bit more keenly in a town like Thurles, thus making it more difficult to interest young people in hurling. Whatever the exact reasons the club had to wait thirty-one years to lift the Dan Breen cup again.
No mention of a split there!!
also how well were sars represented on the tipp team in recent history you'd think being the kingpins their be a few with all ireland medals prior to this year.
Sars players on the tipp panel 89 (0) Sars players on the tipp panel 91 (0) sars players on the tipp panel 01 (2) sara players on the tipp panel 10 (4)
no of sars players to play with tipp from 1975 to 2010 in senior championship is 10 I think 4 of which are on the current team!!
infact another extract taken from sars history. "Brendan Carroll represented Tipperary at left-half back in 1995, 1996 and 1997, bridging the fourteen year gap to our last representative Tom Barry in 1981."
kingpins went 14 years without a player on the tipp team that can't be right can it!!! Our lowly intermediate club even managed to beat that!!
That enough stats and numbers for you?? Tis nice to know that a intermediate club like my own aint so far behind "The kingpin" for players that have represented tipp in the time frame.
Your living on past glories (well in the past) bout time they live up to it now which i think this year they are capable of doing tis year.

exactly hags you are copping on to the fact that what you have quoted is the reason why Tipp didnt win an A ll Ireland from 1971 to 1989 . Its because Thurles were down its no coincidence that when Thurles are strong Tipp are strong. Toome won plenty county finals and Tipp won one All Ireland. The reason Tipp were in a famine is because the backbone of Tipp hurling were not dominant in club hurling. Is that enough of a statistic for you. Oh by the way we are starting to win All Ireland at minor u21 and senior again I wonder why? Oh yeah Sars are dominating minor u 21 and senior in Tipp again long may it continue hags. The whole country knows that Tipp are in serious trouble unless Sars are back dominating again like the 50s and 60s when we cleaned up. No denying thet Im afraid like it or lump it!!!!!!!!! Do you remember when Tipp dominated the 60s/ Sars had won 10 out od 11 county finals as well as Tipp winning the 3 in a row in the 50s. Some coincidence ??
