Thurlesblue - were you at the match?

As I predicted, De La Salle take Munster. Thurles have been very disappointing. They have a wealth of talent but seem to add up to less than the sum of their parts. Shot selection today V DLS was very poor, epitomised by Denis Maher's last minute effort. A great year for Tipp GAA (Senior and U-21 Hurling and lets not forget the U21 footballers!) ends on a low note.

you see hags Tipp might win the odd All Ireland every 10 years or so without Thurles dominating but Tipp will not be a superior power like they used to be unless Sarsfields are dominating like they are again now. thats why Tipp will win a hatload of All Irelands this decade

OH HOW WE LAUGHED, AND LAUGHED and LAUGHED.

Still haven't won MUNSTER let alone the All Ireland.

Still look on the bright side, there have still ONLY been 4 different Antrim clubs in the club hurling final. And as Loughiel are past WINNERS, that won't change this year.

Thurles WHO? They would be junior in Antrim.

Must be a poor standard in Tipp club hurling if Thurles are county champs.

They were lucky to win the tipp final they scored a goal in the last puck of the match from 35 yards to win by a point.

And no patrique the standard isn't poor as you see by the representation of many clubs from all over the county (even non-traditional hurling area's) on the county team which won an all-ireland this year.

Indeed. Toomevara have won 3 Munsters, Roscrea (Francis Loughnane of memory) won 2, and SIX other Tipp sides have won Munster.

So I suspect Thurles winning the county title was a shock? had they ever won it before?

But maybe I am harsh. Two years ago De La salle beat Cushendall (after EXTRA TIME) to reach the final. The 'Dall are a reasonable side although they are one of the two teams from Antrim who won Ulster but never appeared in an all Ireland club hurling final. Shame on them to Antrim hurling.

The other team are St John's who won the Ulster hurling once, but at least they did make the all Ireland club football final.

Here, are Thurles Sars a football team?

patrique:

Take the p*ss out of thurles all you want but its kinda moved over to having a go at hurling tipp with one of your comments..... again thurles have potential but from what i see they don't really play as a team.... 4 or 5 great individuals carrying the team, Della salle showed great heart today granted mullane is their biggest danger but they worked hard as a team today and that's won it for them, where as thurles didn't as much and showed with the amount of wides.

Great display; hope they go on and win the All Ireland now. It would be some boost for Waterford hurling.

Without wishing to upset the KK fans, it would be great to see Oulart win Leinster and really open up the whole All-Ireland.

Fair enough Hags, but thurlesblues gave out plenty before and most people had the guts to come on here and take the banter. Now TS have lost he seems rather conspicuous by his absence, so we're going to give out!

It is great to see that there will be a new name on the trophy, as a Wexford man I am hoping it will be Oulart who win it but after yesterday I would love to see De La Salle win it if they dont. I've a bit of a soft spot for Waterford and Waterford teams anyway but would love to see John Mullane get an All-Ireland medal with his club. He is a bit of a head the ball but I still have great respect for him - he took his suspension like a man and didnt look for a technicality, he was the only Waterford player not to go hiding in the All-Ireland final a few years ago and also said about tickets being too expensive last year. An example to a lot of players.

Is that the Leinster trophy? I thought Oulart had won that before, and O'Loughlin Gaels have certainly won it before.

If you mean the all Ireland trophy I suggest Loughiel, who are already in the semi final, will not feel slighted by your comment.

They won the all Ireland in 1983.

We said abt Mullane pinkie... summed up in a nutshell... especially about the all-ireland a couple of years back. He has matured a lot da last couple of years, not quite da 'head da ball' he was. he dosen't bother with the pubs much anymore is more interested in fulfilling his potential. Great to see as sometimes players go the other way. Would be great to see an oulart - DLS final... haven't see oulart play yet but must admit was very impressed with O'Loughlins agains boden.

My most sincere apologies Patrique, I missed the fact that they had indeed won it when I looked at the roll of honour earlier. I stand corrected!

Not to worry Pinkie.

Loughiel's star player is Liam Watson, who was nominated for an all star this year after scoring 6 points from play against Cork.

However in my opinion he is still hot headed. He plays soccer for Donegal Celtic and last week was sent off after 15 SECONDS.

That must be some sort of record.
