Start out on Andersonstown Road

Thanks 45 but live in Antrim Town.

Toome, Ballyronan, Loup, Moneymore, Cookstown, across the wilderness site of the legendary Kildress in the mid 1970s, avoid turning off into Greencastle for a drink, (did that in 1988) cakll into Kiltyclogher and slap a few heads, and hence Omagh.

March 12th? A division 2 football fixture might be a big game for Tyrone foolk like Omagh Red but I imagine Antrim will be in some sort of all Ireland final that week

Far from a big game, but sure real fans go to all games. Let me know your ETA in Coill an Clochair til I organise a welcoming party

I'm just surprised at how many non-Ulster and Cavan people are commenting on this thread. It doesn't concern you

The wife was there a few weeks ago at her cousins funeral. She reckons I could conquer the place without too much trouble.

Mind you, I had to give her the directions to get there......and her other cousins own Cookstown.

Muineachan Abu, ........please do not use Thurles and Clones in the same sentence, I have been in both places on Munster Hurling Final Days (Thurles) and Ulster Final Days ( Clones), my goodness the Saturday night alone in Thurles and then Liberty Square on the Sunday morning unequalled anywhere in Ireland, never mind Clones...... at least you gave me a laugh.

Are non-Ulster people not allowed to go to Ulster games then PP?

Of course they and Cavan fans are allowed to go but as it is as neutrals they can't really complain about the location. I'd like to go to the Munster final but I'm not campaigning for it to be held in Omagh

Who is looking for the ulster final to be played in Thurles?

Absolutely love Clones Ulster Final Day!! There is plenty of parking in Clones, guaranteed its not ideal but like it was already pointed out, those 2 mile walks to the pitch is all part and parcel of the day...but sure what odds if u have to walk 5 mile to see your county compete in a Provincial Final, if ur a true supporter you would travel any distance and quite whinging about it...

apart from 1993 the Sun always shines in Clones on Ulster final day. Another reason to keep the Ulster Final in Clones.
