Are you claiming that the Irish News stated as a fact that all sickness in the public service, including cancer, is malingering ? If this really happened, surely legal action would have followed ?
The highly populat columnist said it. I for one wanted the union to sue/boycott/burn the building but the union thought otherwise.
And indeed I did read about the dog. I even knew the owner.
And the press did tell us about those terrorists being shot on Bloody Sunday, 1972............
Do you know what happened in carryduff? A couple of morons took down a few flags.
How could anyone possibly know if they were "loyalists?". Did the paper interview them?
Probably Tyrone supporters.

PRETENDING that everything is all rosey in the occupied six and that things have changed and that people can run about Antrim in GAA tops with their Rangers/loyalist supporting friends really is NAIVE and also very DANGEROUS.
The Tescos incident,
I was in TESCO the day it happened, with the kids.
Ken, the ONE protester, does not scare me, as he knows MY background and is slightly wary.
In Liverpool, it is highly dangerous to wear a Man United jersey ANYWHERE in the city.
In Barcelona, it is highly dangerous to wear a real Madrid jersey.
No-0one has ever said the north is wonderful, but it is now getting like everywhere else.
I live in Antrim Town, I was in tesco on Friday night in a Dubs jersey. Now I will not be wearing a Dubs jersey in the heart of Ballycraighy, but I will not be wearing a United jersey in Liverpool either.
So please, a bit of perspective is necessary. We live in one of the most unequal societies in the world, GB or ROI, as we follow the USA in unequal societies. So there will always be a risk in these societies as they are designed to ensure that there are disenfranchised morans roaming the streets so that the rich can prosper.
I should boycott TESCO because they SPONSOR our neighbour club, St James, Aldergrove, but what can you do?

784317 Patrique you lead a BLINKERED life lad and to be honest I think you're a wum, because of the ridiculousness of MOST of what you post, and that you're ALSO the poster known as Pomeroy Plunkett
It would not suprise me if he was both to be honest.

Thanks again, Patrique, as we are making good progress now. You suggested that the Irish News report was unreliable because of a different headline from an unspecified date. It turns out the headline, if it was ever published, dated back some 37 years and has no possible link to the Carryduff case. You then claimed that the paper had declared that all public sector illness, including cancer, amounted to malingering. You now appear to be saying that the claim was made by a `highly populat columnist' whose name you cannot remember, but your union still refused to sue. We can be fairly sure that legal action would have followed swiftly if the unidentified columnist had said anything at all which was critical of cancer sufferers, so it looks as though you have been caught out again.
The only point to be made about the Irish News is that it has files which can be checked. Your claims do not stand up to scrutiny, and it is as simple as that.

Alas Mourne, after some 160 posts, we discover you cannot check the Irish News because you cannot read.
I quote from your post above " the claim was made by a `highly popular columnist' whose name you cannot remember,".
Now if you can show me ANYWHERE when I said I could not remember his name I will never post again. The Irish News only has ONE "popular" columnist.
Apart from that you have much to learn about life, and legalities, as you go along. Employment law and indeed all law was not passed to help the employee or the small man.
Suffice to say some 500 of us STILL boycott the paper since the article appeared.
No one has said that N.Ireland is wonderful, but what you need to learn as you get older is things are not a simple black or white, they can be grey. No one died when two UNKNOWN people removed flags, and the kids I Had WITH ME at Tesco where not deported to Van Dieman's land, or flogged, and neither was I. Progress indeed.
Sinn fein have asked all Nationalists, Catholics., Republicans to get off their knees, stop being afraid, stop cowering behind their curtains, and come out and be an EQUAL in the North as it is OUR country AS WELL. They push for equality, not domination.
I for one have taken my place in the society, hence the collection I WAS AT in Tesco.
You alas still appear to afraid.. I urge you to overcome this.
Not everything is rosy but it is now more equal.
Put it this way. If some kids from Linfield were collecting in the supermarket in MEATH, where your ally Dell lives, I have no doubt he would be protesting as he is cut from the same cloth as the protester at Tesco. There's equality for you.
So try to find positives, rather than negatives, and good luck with finding the courage to play a role in the north.

Two things.
My blinkered life is LIVED in Antrim Town.
Yours is lived in Meath.
And I thought I was "Paddy O'Gall and from Mayo?"
Google Pomeroy and you will discover it is not in Mayo.

Cut from the same cloth anyhow ;)
PP, just a quick note of congratulations on the excellent performance of your minors in the grade 2 final on Saturday. An absolutely brilliant all round display in terms of attacking and defending. Indeed some of the score taking was of the highest quality. Quinn and Loughran were an absolute powerhouse of a midfield. Fair play.
