Tipp are Hurling Champions!!!!

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

as I said in my last post Slayer without having to repeat myself , Im talking about all ireland finals you can quote the odd victory for Kilkenny like 2002 2003 semis and 1967 final and the robbery last year I dont mind you grasping at straws!!

ha ha you're a gas man!

My county has only won 7 All-Ireland's but you know what, proud & all as I am of our achievements down through the years, there ain't one McCarthy cup competitor I'd say we're better than, now or traditionally cos we've lost a lot of games down through the years so an rud is annamh is iontach and you have to respect all opponents. Sadly for you as you mention the head to head record in almost every post, I think you are a Kilkenny wannabe!

Me - glad to be following the green & white. It ain't all about winning.

Thurlesblues, I think Limerick actually have a good record head to head in final meetings against Kilkenny too. Do I think we are better than them?

How many times have ye met in finals Slayer ?

yev only 7 all ireland titles ye cant have met that often as ye wouldnt have been getting out of Munster often enough!

Tipp will then finish them off and break their hearts with goals at crucial stages of the game as in 1971,1991,1964 and 2010

At what stage of the match did ye score in 1964 and 1971? You werent even old enough to watch these matches!! Some simple facts will do, not your usual "training match" cut and paste effort

Il educate you corxx. In 1971 Tipp scored 5-17 a goal by Dinny Ryan in last minute to win it
In 1964 Tipp scred 2 goals in 2 minutes with 8 minutes left to bury Kilkenny scored 5-13

How do you define 'we'?

Surely you mean 'you'?

Alas, this is a public forum so tough luck!!!

768849 Mcgrath Is a class act but Canning is better. The difference is that Mcgrath is playing in a exceptinal team of ball players and ball winners where Canning is not. Canning is only Galway forward who can win ball in the air and as a result always has 3 or 4 men marking him. Imagine what canning could do if he played withe the likes of Eoin Kelly and Corbett or shefflin and Larkin for Example.

Canning is the only player in the game that when he gets the ball 40m from goal you think " this man could get a goal from here".
Noel Mcgrath will play furthur outfield as time goes by as he is a great ball player with great vision but will never put up the scores that canning does on a regular basis. Dont forget the vision Canning has shown with his handpasses in All Ireland Club finals especially against Dela Salle. Also i dont think Mcgrath could put in a performace like the one Joe put in this year in a losing against Ballyhale. U

Well said!!

Can Kilkenny squeeze another All Ireland out of the current bunch or are they deadwood?
Can Tipp sustain the momentum gained to next years final?

Kilkenny will find it hard to come back with some players apparently saying that KK on the sidelines for a few years. No surprise though!

i hope we win it again next year. i live near the limerick border and most people i know there expressed the hope that kilkenny would win 5 in a row and that tipp would be destroyed. Obviously the opposite happened and i love slagging them about it haha they're getting awful touchy over it, i hope tipp win again to give them another reason to be aggrieved
