767183 Thats records now show 10 titles to Tipp against Kilkennys 5 in the last 15 meetings between them which shows that Kilkenny have a one in three chance of beating Tipp in an Aall Ireland final. We all know who the home of hurling is now!!
We all saw from the hash you made of the bettin odds that you're a bit shaky with numbers so try this. How about KK have made the last 5 AI finals Tipp have made 2 of the last 5 AI finals
That means KK have 100% of the finals and Tipp just 40%. So by my reckoning its almost certain KK will be in the final but less than a 1 in 2 chance that Tipp will. Corrxxx , 07/09/2010 at 10:05
Read my post again Corxxx the reason Kilkenny won those all irelands is because Tipp werent in them except for the robbery last year and dont say we werent dood enough to be there because a fairly average Tipp team will beat a Kilkenny team who always has to be twice as good as Tipp to beat them.
Kilkenny played above themselves in last years final and Tipp didnt play to their potential different story this year and in 91 in 71, in 64, etc etc!!

It reminded me a bit like the final min 1964 when Tipp scored 2 goals in 2 minutes in the second half against Kilkenny to show their ruthlessness
we scored 5 goals that day, another few minutes last Sunday and it would have been 6.

Still a bit sore about the beating ye got last year, ye were blown away in the last 5 minutes. Simple as! Kilkenny didnt play above themselves at all, they played average and still beat Tipp.
As for that piece of logic above, Im not even going to respond to that. Tidy it up and post it again so it makes sense.

difference is corxx we destroyed Kilkenny last Sunday they barely got over us last year as we didnt play well! Last year was the first final since 1967 they beat us in Tipp winning in 71, 91 and again yesterday and before 1967 it was another 42 years since they beat us . Thats a little synopsis of the history lesson for you now go and read up on the rest of it

Yeah but they give out Liam in years that the two of ye dont play in finals, or so i thought. It seem ye're not very good in those years. Or I'd go as far as to say ye're very ordinary in those years?

For the Blue the gold and the dream this is for the boys on hill 16!!!
I'm not sure dublin is there anymore cause i think I drank it.... could make it to thurles last night had to work (wasn't in the state for that either) I see there's one (supposed) tipp man that couldn't have been bothered going.....but i suppose he only going to training sessions
Jayusss lads that was epic the boys were fantastic we beat kilkenny playing them at their own game and did it well.... Credit to kilkenny they are a great them and it means even more when you beat one of the best teams ever, tipp will have to now match kilkenny and drive on... could we start our on drive for 5. They have the potential to do it and they lived up to the potential this year.

Well considering it is the third you have won since then it had a 1 in 3 chance of being the handiest didn't it? :-)
Also interesting to point out that since 1989, Kilkenny have won 9, to your 3. Cork have won 4. Why do you think Tipp languish so far behind Kilkenny thurlesblues. A good insightful answer now might make people think you are more than just a wind up merchant ......

As I said Slayer Kilkenny is always a handy all ireland for Tipp and they wouldnt have won 9 since 1989 if they had met us as we also beat them in 1991. Id say they might have won 4 , one against Cork, One against Limerick, one against Wwaterford and the one one they robbed Tipp for last year which we proved on Sunday that they shouldnt have won as they were trying to prove to the whole country that they should have but they were humiliated by Tipp. They beat us in a semi alright I think in 2002 but not in a final! All in Tipp hope we will be playing Kilkenny in the next 3 or 4 all Irelands as wel have another handy few.!

Thurlesblues,
Well done on your handy all ireland. The Tipp team shone. Your full back line played wonderful and ran into space and took the KK full back line all over the place. Noel Hickey seemed to spend as much time in the corner as in his position. Other than Eoin and Richie, the KK forwards and sub forwards were poor. They played too much high ball in which fell too long and made the wrong decisions at the wrong times. Tipp got the killer goals at the right time. Looking forward to the KK team coming back which they will. They are wonderful servants to teh game and lost nothing in defeat. I stood on the Nally and waited until Eoin Kelly finished his speech. And a fine speech it was. I could hear the singing as I left the stadium. Eoin Kelly and Cummins deserved their medal having to work in KK for all those barren years. Once the hip hips were done I was off to Gaffneys to drown my sorrows before catching the train to KK.
Just heard today that Tipp were 3/1 at half time. I sent a text to a friend at half time saying we were in trouble. Never thought we'd get back even when we levelled it. Too many little things didn't go right for us. But sure we're still top of the tree.
Not a bad return for the year. Minor and Intermediate champions and all ireland runners-up. Many counties would give an arm and a leg for that. At least we have the minors coming through.
Finally, well done on your one-in-a-row. ;-)

the reason Tipperary always beat Kilkenny is because Tipp give them no room to hurl. They completely suffocate them and close them down. This is the way it always has been traditionally between the two counties. If you give Kilkenny room and loose play like all the rest of the hurling counties give them well then they will beat you.
Kilkenny cannot handle the intensity and ferocity of the Tipp play as we see by the frustration of Tennyson throwing the hurley at Lar when he was about to burst the Kilkenny net. Tipp will always overcome them with speed power and class as we saw again last Sunday and Tipp will always take them on down the middle where they are vulnerable and then open them up with crossfield play. Tipp will then finish them off and break their hearts with goals at crucial stages of the game as in 1971,1991,1964 and 2010. That is why with 15 finals played between them Tipp have won 10 and they have won 5 and last year is not accepted as a win inTipperary!
Now Slayer is that a good enough analysis of Tipp v Kilkenny for you as they are the hard facts!!

Hmm, talk about a one dimensional argument.
2002 semi final Kilkenny 1-20 Tipp 1-16 2003 semi final Kilkenny 3-18 Tipp 0-15
But I suppose a mauling like 2003 doesn't matter as it was a semi final? Excellent, we in Limerick can forget being hammered by you in 2009's semi so!!

Strange. I'm almost sure I saw the cup going to a Kilkenny man last year. I'm almost sure most Tipp hurling folk while gutted as to the the result, congratulated the Cats fans on last year's win.
Thurlesblues, I think Limerick actually have a good record head to head in final meetings against Kilkenny too. Do I think we are better than them? Not on your nelly man. All very fine having a better head to head record in finals, but the fact is ye went 19 years without beating them in championship from 1991 to 2010 and in that time the meetings were Kilkenny 3-0 Tipp.
I'm not here to defend Kilkenny, I just love hurling, but you talk a lot of Willy wonka & the chocolate factory.

as I said in my last post Slayer without having to repeat myself , Im talking about all ireland finals you can quote the odd victory for Kilkenny like 2002 2003 semis and 1967 final and the robbery last year I dont mind you grasping at straws!!
