Kilkenny were lucky that Wadding blew up full time cos if any more high balls went into Lar hed have burst the net a few more times and it could have been 16 points!!

Well done tipp for putting an end to this rubbish about kilkenny being the best team in the history of the gaa. They were very lucky to win 4 in a row as a refereeing mistake cost tipp last year. They are a great team no doubt but the build up to this match really annoyed me. 4 other teams have won 4 in a row and it's as if they're being forgtten about.

Thuelsblues,

there is only one thing worse than a bad loaser & that isa bad winner. Come on, ye were magnificent yesterday, don't tarnish the win by calling it a training session, that's actually offending Tipperary's hurlers, not Kilkenny's.

The Tipp performance should be applauded for it's work rate & intensity, not described in derogatory terms as you are doing. Humble in victory, gracious in defeat - try that for a while.

Congrats to Tipp, worthy winnners on the day. Ye could tell it was theirs from the off, hookin and blocking everything, half back line dominant. Even before the game it seemed KK just didn't look right, dont know wot it was but they seemed to be dropping balls and missing picks in the warm up. Maybe the pressure got to them but they just weren't at it. Tipp on the pother hand were fantastic and fully deserved their win.

It is very difficult to compare teams of different generations. Lots of things change including the rules, the sliotars , level of training etc. Also another very important ingredient is the general standard of opposition in any particular era. I have been following the game for 50 years and I reckon that they were probably the best team that I have ever seen but there is also no doubt that there were no other outstanding team about for the last few years to put it up to them. Tipp have been the coming force over the last couple of years, last year they almost made it, now that they have they could be the team to beat for the next couple of years. Who knows, maybe we saw the best team ever play yesterday but maybe they wern't playing in black & amber.

Its a cliche but hurling was the winner yesterday. It was an honest and manly display from both sides. Well done to both counties.

No, Ryan in goal and Kelly and Callahan missing goal chances cost Tipp last year. Well, according to Eoin Kelly that is what cost them.

Last years score was not Kilkenny 1-0 0-23 Tipp.

Just a word on last year.

Saying Tipp were the better team last year is wide of the mark. When Kilkenny got a dubious penalty, the score was Tipp 0-23 Kilkenny 0-21. Tipp scored nothing after that and Kilkenny scored 2-1. The better team usually gets the highest score on the scoreboard and I believe Kilkenny were the better side last year - saw their chance & took it.

Yesterday, Tipp were the better side. They got their chances, forced Kilkenny to do things they didn't want to do & put the game to bed when the chances arose.

They've been the 2 best sides over the last 2 years and have one win over each other. That's about fair in my opinion.

Tiobraid Arann deserves the Liam McCarthy.
They had to play six matches to win it. I only got to see them play Cork this year.
Interestingly they did not score any goals against Cork. But since that match, in the SHC, Tipperary scored 13 goals.
