The Croke park stewards prevented a Down banner going up last weekend as the said it caused a fence pardon the pun, it read "DOWN WITH FENCE'S"

2001 Westmeath and Meath played 3 times in the championship. Westmeath were managed by Luke Dempsey and Meath by Sean Boylan. Some Meath fans erected a sign on the side of the road..."Luke is warm but Sean is Boylan" .Have to admit it was clever. Those were great games that year, even though we came out on the wrong end of it!

The Monaghan fans - '(Picture of an umbrella) is a tool'

thought that one was very imaginative, I also think Joe had a little titter at that one.

Joe didn't take it that well at all surprisingly - He wrote an article in the Gaelic Life the following week saying how poor an effort it was from a county who produced the likes of Kavanagh !!

I thought he could have just let it go.

Although I detest Rugby they has the best banner ever many years ago. Willie John McBride was playing for Ireland and France had a player whose name I think was Jean Condom. The banner read 'Our Willie is bigger than Your Condom'

'TYRONE POWER IS DEAD'

On display on the hill for the Tyrone Dublin game. A reference to the great actor of the 1940's and 1950's Tyron Power, who is now sadly dead.
