The problem Galway have with the venue is that Tipp are TRAINING there all year. If Dublin play in Croke Park its a home venune but they dont train there. It an absolute joke to have game in Thurles. Its a massive advantage to Tipp to have the game on there training pitch. Sligonian (Sligo) - Posts: 1902 - 07/09/2010 12:06:31 767390 Link 0 |

thurlesblues>>are we complaining that we have to play the game 6 days after the senior final roundball with 9 of our players involved ? aidangalway (Galway) - Posts: 648 - 07/09/2010 12:29:19 767424 Link 0 |

-Well you've only complained about it around 20 times already on this thread. Several of the U-21s didn't even see any action last Sunday, so it's an irrelevant point anyway. thurlesblues (Tipperary) - Posts: 4475 - 07/09/2010 12:33:47 767434 Link 0 |

Galway have a very good underage structure and have produced some very good minor and u 21 teams they dont need to be at this nonsense of being afraid to play Tipp in Thurles. thurlesblues (Tipperary) - Posts: 4475 - 07/09/2010 12:42:13 767452 Link 0 |

the more Galway go on about Semple stadium the more they will rise Tipp and the bigger the hammering they will get thurlesblues (Tipperary) - Posts: 4475 - 07/09/2010 12:43:39 767453 Link 0 |

when the fixture was made for the game to be in Semple Stadium all them weeks ago surely some county board would have said there and then "what if tipp get to the final" and then lodge complaint not the week before a match. Anyway Semple Stadium best hurling pitch in the country. surely players would jump at the chance to play there knockmealdown13 (Tipperary) - Posts: 4 - 07/09/2010 13:09:37 767492 Link 0 |

Tipp boys, don't become unbearable all of 2 days after proving yourselves as the top County in the Country Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1479 - 07/09/2010 13:25:13 767521 Link 0 |

This scenario is a joke and surely even you must see that! An All-Ireland final played as a home match for one team! thurlesblues (Tipperary) - Posts: 4475 - 07/09/2010 13:31:36 767538 Link 0 |

this is a delicate situation. On the one hand, I'd like to see a boycott, just as two fingers to the GAA, who seem to ignore us at every turn over the past few years. However, that would not be the route I would take, as its not fair to the players who deserve to play in an All-Ireland. I'll be there on Saturday anyway. abhainn (Galway) - Posts: 1000 - 07/09/2010 14:26:44 767648 Link 0 |

Thurlesblue loves throwing out worn out cliches like "we'll hammer ye anyway no matter where its played" etc etc. Where was he whan an average Cork team were hammering Tipp in the first round of Munster this year? He was nowhere to be seen on this site for some strange reason! tommy k (Galway) - Posts: 3470 - 07/09/2010 14:54:37 767695 Link 0 |

Did the GAA really say that Thurles was the fairest venue????That just defies befief. How is it fair to the hurling fan in the west of the county( Galway that is)who has well over 100 miles to drive to get to the game?Power in the GAA seems to rest with the Munster and to a lesser extent Leinster Counties with the rest of the Country having to make do with the crumbs from the table. Hag - you may be right when you say the Tipp team is superior; but how will we know? This game is so weighted in their favour that it would be a miracle if they don't win. Read yesterdays interview with Padraic Maher. Fair play to him he starts off doing his best to talk down Tipp's chances and claims the venue will motivate Galway, but he then goes on to talk about how great it will be to play in Thurles on front of 30,000 home supporters who are alread on cloud nine following ye're great AI win. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3154 - 09/09/2010 15:20:49 769946 Link 0 |

Just for all you posters who were on here saying that the venue for the u21 final was fixed last may and galway should quit whinging as they knew this all along, well the REAL FACTS came out today. The CCC in a letter to the Galway hurling board ADMITTED that the venue for the final wasnt fixed until August 30th a full NINE days after the semi finals were played. This just defies belief altogether. dlegendcooney (Galway) - Posts: 263 - 09/09/2010 20:20:47 770416 Link 0 |
