Let me say this first: KK 1-20 are a great team and they are blessed with skill all over the field but i think we risk holding them up to too high a standard sometimes.

5 in a row would be an outstanding achievement but we have to remember the second and third were almost walkovers. The Cats won a good AI against cork and suddenly they had a three in a row. I'm not saying it is not an achievement but to put it in perspective whoever won in 2006 and then got the next 2 finals may still be in the same position.

I watched last years final in full last night for the first time since September when i was there and i almost forgot how close Tipp were to winning it. They were awesome and absolutely bossed the play for 25 monutes of the second half. The "penalty" really sealed it and i felt sick watching it all over again.

I think what i am saying is that, whilst if KK win it i will be the first to stand and applaude them, it is in no way in the bag. Tipp should see the five in a row as just an anomoly of scheduling and not something that makes them immortal. They CAN be beaten, last year proved that and the time is now!!!!.

(Or i am deluding myself and they will absolutely take us to the cleaners but if that happens i will be proud to have seen the five completed!!)

Agreed Moddy91. Dont think Tipp will leave anything behind but it mightnt be enought against the greatest team of all time. Should be a cracker.

thurlesblues, you are an idiot, it was a penalty, it maybe shouldn't have been but it was. Henry would have buried the 21 yard free anyway!

best of luck to the kilkenny lads i know ye'd love to finish the 5 in a row by beating us and i know that tipp would love to stop the 5 in a row anyway if ye win i know till be beaten byt the better team and they deserve the five in a row but from a tipp perspective hopefully not!

try to be objective kkid it was a free out for overcarrying and Henry didnt get a puck of the ball all day off Padraig Maher!

As I said kkid we normally beat ye in finals bar the odd blip and going on past results which are 9 to 5 in the last 14 meetings thats more than two to one I see no reason how it will be any different this year. Its all about tradition my man havent you heard??

Of course it was a penalty because it was given. End of Story, KK won the All Ireland (rightly so) and nothing will ever change that.

I do think however that is is fair to point out that it was an incorrect decision and was a key turning point. In exactly the same way Meath are rightly Leinster footbal champions this year but you can understand Laois people feeling agrieved at the incorrect decision. It is a part of sport that these things go against you and you have to accept it, however it is only natural to wish the incorrect decision was not made in the first place.

I assume you are not arguing that the decision was correct or we have a different discussion!!

Anyway I am fairly sure Henry would not have gone for a goal at that stage from the 21 yard line but as you say it doesn't matter because it didn't happen.

Hopefully there will be every bit as good a match this year and both teams do hurling proud again.

It was a bit like the goal ye got against Wwexford in the semi in 91 when dj ran about 15 steps with the ball before kicking it to the net, then yet again Tipp took ye in the final and wel take ye again this year no problem!
